voice mail for cingular
got my v600 and love it, with one exception:
when i miss a call and someone leaves a voice message, it registers in my phone as a text message, not a voice mail message. I've tested this by calling myself and when i check my voice mail, the message is there; the problem is that i'll never know the messages are iin voice mail, because all i get are strange text messages, that look like _@. anyone know what's wring or what i need to do? thanks in advance.

Upgrade your firmware to the TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.1DR_A, the one you currently have is buggy, since I had those two exact same problems with them until I did that.
My VM would never shut off and I got that annoying Text message you are mentioning. So far, with the postings that I have already read, you are the only one that shares those exact same problems. But, proceed with caution, flexing a phone is something somewhat risky. Go to motoclub.com to get the software.

Jodiaz: are you also cingular? and where in the US? I am in L.A. Because the problem i've read about and from your post the one i think you had was that once you got a message and read it, your message notifier icon wouldn't go away. I have NOT had that problem. my only problem (which is significant) is that voice mails are listed on my phone as text messages. I guess you have both problems. I will check that site for the flex instructions (thanks for them) but am weary about doing it, and not sure I know what I'm doing did you have any problems with it? also, I think i'll lose the games that are on here with the present flex/ware. how do i copy those off to a computer & how do i load them back on later? I also haven't programed the...

Also, on the motoclub site, the "ultimo flex" for the v600 is TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.9ER. does anyone know the difference between this and previous versions? I can't decipher the spanish and I'm assuming that unless there's a way to get that site to post in english, someone else here can.

I fully understand and speak spanish. The latest flash they hav seen is TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.9ER. However, use 0B.09.1DR_A. The other one they have is the 0B.09.23R, but that one is extremely buggy. I had to re-flash after using it because it disabled my JAVA functions and had problems with the sound.
I will be posting ALL the setttings for Cingular anyone might need to download (MMS, WAP/GPRS).
I also recommend going to v600.cjb.net, since it's in English. I understand the language barrier problem, I hope this helps.

Jodiaz: if you have time, let me know what i need to do to get the games in my current firmware (games that i want to keep) off my phone to a comp, and how to get it back on it after i flex if you know how. Also, i use bluetooth through my mac, but i assume it will be better to do this all via usb cable with a windows machine. still a little nervous about the whole thing, don't want to wreck this phone--that i love.
