So, I was all ready to get the Audiovox CDM8900, but the Verizon sales rep convinced me to get the 4400 instead because he claimed that it's "the most reliable phone in the industry." Flash forward a few hours, and here I am with a phone that refuses to make any noise. This includes ringing, key beeps, message recieved signals, and also any verbal communication with callers (incoming or outgoing). At first I thought I'd just accidently activated Silence All mode, but I have switched it back and still there is nothing. If anyone has any ideas I would be very greatful, the idea of spending another hour hanging around a Verizon store waiting for service does not appeal to me. 😡

This should not happen regularly but try shutting down, taking the battery off and then trying to turn it on without the battery. Then put the battery back on and power up. I had this happen to the one I sold my father the other night, a VX4400b . This phone is normally the best of the bunch, and #3 for phones in 2003 out of all ranked in ConsumerReports.

Let me know if this happens again, I will investigate, If you have your box from when you bought the phone that would be helpful as well, with the codes on the top, the store you bought it from and the date you did.

I can't promise anything but if I find out something valuable I will post it. 😉
