WTH-one of the reviews mentioned putting a Splenda wrapper under the battery-kinda lost me on that one. Anyone understand why that would "fix" anything?
Thanks

Some people are complaining that the screen doesn't "click" as well in the lower corners as it does on the rest of the screen.

There are two fixes to the problem that people have found:
1. Remove the battery cover and put a small piece of cardboard (business card thickness )the size of the battery between the cover and the battery and close
2. There are two screws in the battery compartment below the battery (one has a red "-" sticker over it) that can be loosened just a little.

Just a way to improve screen performance a litt...

Hawkeye, your response to my "Splenda" solution listed in my review is even more effective with the business card placed on the outside of the battery. I have the wrapper underneath and the screen is even more responsive. It seems to scroll better, too. Do not use Sweet N Low....its not classy

the screw fix is a much safer fix. putting anything behind or on top of your battery could cause long term bending of the metal plate under the batter. cause from too much pressure. just becareful is all im saying

I did the screw fix myself. I didn't even think my corner clicking was that bad until I tried it with the business card and then backing off the screws. Wow! There is a big difference to either method you choose!

The guy that found the screw fix said he used to fix his console gamepads the same way. Too many manufacturers tighten screws up too far from the factory.

The card method I would be worried about the long term effects on. backing off the two screws a 1/2 turn or so should be fine. It accomplishes the same thing

did both and they both work, i would reconmend the backing the screws a little bit cause the card might cause long term damage but who know 2 years from now youll have a new phone anyways lol.

HawkeyeOC, is the loosen of the 2 screws a 1/2 turn?

I would try loosening it in 1/4 or 1/2 increments and test the screen out as you turn it each time. If you turn them too much the screen becomes way too easy to click.

...why do we have to physically modify this device AT ALL in order for it to work better?

will54 what happend is when workers tighten the screws too tight on some of the units they need to be loosened. the card or wrapper behind battery is not needed if you do the screw thing.
its a worker error and its all verizon would probably do if you took it in. or they might give you a new one. but if that worker made the screws to tight then you would have to loosen them.

Overtightening screws on most phones is probably no big deal. No one would ever notice I guess. With this Moving/clicking screen design it does make a difference.

The original guy that figured out this fix said that he used to have to loosen screws on gaming consoles the same way.

We shouldn't have to do this, but I am not willing to go through the aggravation of getting replacement phones when I can just do this.

There are people out there going through 2,3 or more phones to get one they are happy with clicking

Great, the so called leading edge technology device fixed with baling wire and twine. What next? If VZW and RIM had any integrity whatsoever, they'd recall this piece of junk and fix it before releasing it onto the unsuspecting general public.

Why recall what you can fix with Splenda? At the most VZW is guilty for being cheap with the phone and not including this as an accessory 🤣

Curse you Verizon! I want my Splenda! 😡
