RIM no doubt got a boost of confidence from AvianResearch's sales numbers a few days ago, but it looks to be in a bit of a gloomier mood today, as it has been forced to slightly lower its third quarter profit and revenue outlook. Apparently, instead of the previously forecast revenue of $2.95 to $3.10 billion,
From Engadget on Dec 3rd:

RIM now says it's expecting to rake in just $2.75 to $2.78 billion, with its adjusted earnings now expected to be 0.81 to $0.83 per share, and not $0.89 to $0.97 per share, as previously forecast. According to RIM's Jim Balsillie, the company is laying most of the blame on "product launch timing, general economic conditions and foreign exchange volatility," but it has nothing but good things to say about ...

Hawkeye, are you a Verizon Rep or Regional Sales Manager with RIM? I appreciate that you wish to keep things upbeat but I also feel you aren't realistic.

I got a Storm the first day they were out and kept it until Saturday. I upgraded to the Leaked software the day it came out.

While the Storm might be acceptable to a light user or some young person more interested in an iPhone type device for the kewl factor, it performs dismally for a business person wanting productivity from their mobile device. Even after the upgrade, the lags were still quite evident and the speed with which the touch screen responded was very inconsistent, resulting in numerous errors and requiring s alot of back tracking. There was all kinds of strange behavior...

What kind of fictional world do you live in???hawkeyeOC you have to big the biggest fan boi I've ever seen in my life. Rim makes great bb phones this is just not one of them. You just don't know when to quit. Tons of people have returned this phone because it suxs I guess this is not a clear indicator for some 🀨 Rim and Verizon need to go back to the drawing board on this one😎

diamond, show me the stats of people who returned and people who like the phone. ill agree the phone is not for some. but bashing the phone and saying that you dont like it because it doesnt fit you is another. as for you hoosier same thing, if you dont like the phone thats fine, and if you havent bashed the phone great. but again bashing and dislike are two different things.

its just annoying around here with haters.

He knows nothing. He owns a Palm Treo. He does travel the different forums touting his "God sent me on a mission to promote Sprint" mantra.

He often pretends he has different phones when he doesn't. He has been shut out and owned more times than anyone can count.

I will be curius to see real numbers on this phone's sales. So far they are only making vague statements that sound more like sales pitches than anything else. If the can get the new software info out to the public they could probably bring back a lot of people that rejected the phone based on the initial software. Of course to do that they will have to admit the intial error of the phone being not quite ready when it was released.

i dont think they have to admit anything. becaus some of the phones at launch worked perfect while some didnt. but i think you are right that if they get some more updates out asap they will get back some customers that left.

Sales numbers will be high which means return numbers will obviously be high. I am sure returns were a much higher percentage than normal based on software issues and the phone being overhyped. Should be interesting. Telus in Canada soft launched the Stor...

The returns numbers are what I would love to see. I stop in at the Verizon store near my home quite often and the first week after the phone was released I could not spend five minutes in there without hearing multiple people returning and bashing this phone.
