Just returned Storm and got the Omnia!! AND NO $35 ReStock FEE!!!

Best decision ever was for me to return my Storm today. My wife still has her Storm and I just upgraded the OS. The storm is a little better now but still has its fallbacks. Once that will never get fixed is the weak springiness of the screen corners. Its harder to press the screen button in on the corners since there is minimal travel and spring there.

So I Love my Omnia big time. Best win mobile phone ever. And one more thing...
... to the Verizon rep that told me last week I would never be able to get the $35 restock fee waived, and that he would like to be there when I asked for it...
... well I called customer service and they noted my account to waive the fee. Boo Ya!

So to all those that want the fee waived, here are the ste...

Never let a snot nosed sales rep bully you. They are a dime and dozen and Verizon knows it. Just call customer service and speak to a retention specialist. I had done it right in front of uppity sales clerks at verizon on multiple occasions and then smiled as they had to stand there as their store manager apologized for their behavior and did as I originally asked.

$35 or a loyal customer?? It is somewhat amazing that it even has to come up. In a time where most companies are struggling to keep the customers they have. What ever happened to customer service? It should never get to a point where the customer rep needs someone else to tell them you matter.

What ever happened to people keeping with their choices?

the fee is there because too many customers would choose a phone that was wrong for them, use it until it could not be resold (over an hour of talk time) and then decide they didn't want it and return it.

Now, I do agree that if there is buggy software that the customer was no warned of before they purchased the phone, then yes, the fee should be waived.

As salespeople, we should do our best to get a customer with a phone that they will not want to return because it meets their needs/wants. If the salespeople arn't doing that and just pushing phones, then that is a problem. But of the phones I've seen returned... maybe 10% of them are because they were sold the wrong phon...

NICE!! I thought about going back to the VZ store that snot nosed me and rub in to the sales rep that denied me. But I really hate that store (Watchung NJ) and decided to go to the one more local to me (Westfield) where they give much better service. The woman there was very pleasant, easy to deal with and honest. She should get a raise. So not all stores are snot nosed.

(But the ones on Route 22)

I am also thinking about returning my storm today. I just called customer service and they said they will not waive that fee. Really pissed off. I have been with Verizon for 6 years now and have 4 additional lines under me. REALLLY PIST WITH VERIZON... I told the bitch on the phone that I may just cancel everything.

what i have learned is being rude over the phone doesnt get you anywhere. i work in sales and ive been on both ends, and being rude or yelling doesnt help your case. if anything get ahold of a manager be calm and explain the problem.

besides they dont care, you would have to pay 175 cancel fee 5 times = $875 to close all lines. they would rather help you if stay calm.

good luck, and if you dont want the phone ill buy it from you for 75bucks. :-)

You are right... I don't yell when I am on the call. I just said I am unhappy with this phone, and I feel Verzion marketed this phone and it is not capable of doing with it says it can do. She did say now that the upgrade is out it should fixed everything. I am guessing they stopped waiving the fee.

Furthermore, all my extra lines are month to month. So I would only have to pay 175. So don't be an arrogant ass thinking you know my situation.

Ya I don't get upset with the Customers Service guys. They are just a cog in the corporate machine.

Don't get me wrong I like the Storm, I just think the Omnia will suit my needs better. Window Mobile with Wi-Fi can use skype and Garmin will work on that phone.

Hell maybe I won’t like that phone either, and probably come back to the Storm.

my sis fiance/e was going to get the storm, then the omnia and ended up getting saga because he wanted the keyboard. but he said the omnia acellorometer or what ever was annoying because it does that flipy flop thing everytime you go from land scape to vertical. now if you can turn it off thats a diff story.

just go to the store and play with them.

but ive had 0 problems with my storm, maybe you got a bad one.

thats a plus if you have that phone then. thats one of the reasons he didnt buy it. and he said the touchscreen was way way way to sensitive. but again im sure you can adjust that. i like the screen size of the storm over the omnia myself.

Enjoy your Storm screen. I have the Omnia and enjoy banging out emails. I am not too concerned about having a beautiful screen. I just want the thing to type fast and answer calls reliably. The Storm can do neither.

...hey, but games look great on the Storm. 🤣

Enjoy the storm screen, answer calls and e-mail reliably? Hmmmm. First things first, how old are you? I just have to ask this queston when I see a response like yours.

To the point. Ok, you don't like the Storm...it sounds like you are proud to make that statment so you can justify your purchase of the Samsung. I could be wrong. From what I hear, the Samsung is good but not that good. Tell you what, we can go back and forth on this for a long time so lets make a gentlemens bet. Right now, you have about 12 reviews on the Samsung hovering around 4 and change. The Storm has been reviewed by twice that number. The new software for the Storm has just been released with more to come. In 3 months, you and I can chat about how the Sto...

im with him.. i work at an in-direct store and for 1 the reason we charge is a lot of times customers bring in a phone all beat up filled with porn and numbers and such. not only do we have to clean this off we also have to put a new outside cover and guess what we cant resell that phone cause the fcc disallows us to sell none new phones. 2nd come in and try out the phones and see if they meet your needs cause from what im hearing is that email is not important to you and neither is call quality.. cause if this were so you would have stuck with a blackberry of some sort... dont get me wrong i love windows ppc a ton and cant wait till they come out with 7.0. but the storm with the.75 is working like a charm and bam yes i do carry the phone, ...
