Does anyone know how to convert music from itunes into a ringtone?

I personally import the mp3 into GarageBand and eit the song as I see fit. I then share that file to iTunes. Once it is in iTunes I convert it to an AAC version. This makes it into a .m4a file. Then just change the "a" to an "r" and it becomes a .m4r file which is a ringtone.
