Storm and Iphone
I have both! The Storm is a much much better phone overall! I have the Storm typing down to where I can type just as fast using sure type as well as landscape.
Lots of Iphone people just bashing this phone. Time will show this phone to be better.
My point my friends is don't get discouraged by the negative reviews. Over at Howards, you have many who have gone back on their initial impressions and are starting to realize the true strengths of the Storm.
Don't just read this post, buy a Storm and compare it yourself.

You are in the minority in that opinion. Pretty much all major reviewers are not on board with this phone. Some are just trying to smooth the waters because Verizon reps sent nasty e-mails to some of the tech sites about the reviews. They have a lot riding on this phone.

I agree. I have a Storm and have been very disappointed. The fact that it "will get better" with time may be true, but we can only base our current opinions on what we have in hand.
I don't think the device is ALL bad, but it sure isn't the creamy perfection that some of these fanboy reviews are saying. "No lag, perfectly accurate typing, blah blah". These guy are either lying or bought something else thinking it was the Storm. My guess is at least half of these posters don't even HAVE the Storm, especially considering the shortages, and are basing their "reviews" on 5 minutes playing with the demo.
I am keeping mine for at least the 30 days to see if they can clean some of the mess with the OS up. However, I'm not going to keep it i...

And how exactly do you know that Verizon reps sent nasty emails? I love hearing all the 'claims' people throw out on the web and in forums like they have first hand knowledge. Are you one of those reps or something?
As for the iPhone comparisons, is anyone even paying attention to Phonescoops current rating for the iPhone 3G? It's really not that much higher than the Storm's rating. I'm just not seeing how the iPhone is that much better. If it had a 4-5 rating, maybe...but it's still in the mid 3's.

You can see it however you like. The e-mail was sent from Verizon's West Coast Media relations division and was a form letter. He also knows of several other people that received the same e-mail.
Verizon is well known for bullying inside the technologies media market. They are very quick to take away free samples and early testing privileges from establishments that offend them.
