This is my question also. I just bought and returned the Instinct. I didn't have the adequate promised Sprint coverage at my house but I would have returned it anyway do the almost impossible task of texting on the touch screen. Often times the button beside the one you touched was input and it was almost unbearable to text. And the Instinct had a landscape qwerty to boot! Can somneone please comment on the Dare's texting?

I doubt that it will be as easy as with the iphone for the simple fact that the Dare's touch screen is based on pressure. The Iphone's is based on the electrical placement of your fingertips.

long story short if your Fingers are to large for the Dare's screen it will be very inaccurate, these phones should come with a stylus, to be honest with you. I had the Viewtty and texting was horrible with it i had to use a paper clip to scroll thru menus

I agree. I have been playing with the Glimmer ( similar touch screen technology ) and the texting is difficult to get used to ( although it is a sweet phone!)

I actually have the Dare and I have been using it for a day or so here and I love it! I have bigger fingers and yeah it does take a little getting used to with the texting but overall I love it! You will have a little bit of a learning curve if you have never used a touch device but I think most people wont have a problem with it.

I totally agree with natemc. I have large fingers as well, and I have never had an all touchscreen device. The texting is very easy to get used to. In the beginning, the phone is a little hard to get used to since it dosent have the same UI that we have all been using for the last few years, but that goes away pretty quickly.

I've had mine since last Friday. Took me 2 days to get used to the touch keyboard, but now I can type fast. I found it's easier to do with my thumbs than with my index fingers. Counter-intuitive since they are smaller. I was worried about this too, but no problems with it at all.

Texting is very easy on the DARE. I had an iPhone a few months back, texting on the DARE is easier, espically in landscape mode using your thumbs.
