BlackBerry Pearl 8130

Hey guys.... I have a Sprint Pearl 8130 and while I am at work I use the wired stereo headset I have to listen to music. I work in kind of a loud place so when someone calls I have to unplug the headset and put the phone to my ear. My issue is that if I initiate the call with my headset and I find out its too loud to talk with the headset I disconnect it from the phone. When I try to put the phone to my ear and talk normally I get zero sound out of the handset and the mic is turned off. To get this to work I need to turn on speakerphone then turn off speakerphone then the phone works correctly. Is there any setting I can change to have it where the moment I pull the cord on the handsfree out it turns my phones mic and earpiece back on??...
