Thinking about exchanging

I am a Sprint customer, and have been for over 5 years, so i'm not going to switch. I, and my hubby, recently upgraded our phones to the palm centro. Our first "do it all" phone. He loves it. The touch screen, the infrared, and a couple of other features. Me, I could take or leave the screen and the whole phone. Not really liking it. The camera has no flash and you can't really customize it. The only benifit about the whole thing is that we basically got 2 for one; as price is a big factor as well. I have held the BBPearl 8130 and have been albe to test it out a bit in Best Buy as they had two active. The suretype thing wasn't a problem. It seemed similar to the t9 prog i've been dealing with for years. It's just the letters are in the qwert...

YES the Palm is too bulky and the keys are tiny. It also feels like its made out of cheap plastic, no flash and you have to take off the battery cover to access the memory card

That's another one of my issues with it, the memory card access. The battery cover is a pain to get off and on, it's too slippery. I have small hands and the qwerty keys, while rubbery (a plus), even my small fingers hit the wrong one. The data access is only $15 compared to the $30 required for BB; so that's something else. Whichever phone I decide on, I want the best overall because i'll have the thing for two years, maybe more. It just seems like sprint is really pushing the centro in ads and price. Where BB has been around for a while and is quietly evolving to be an all around device for people. Any and all feedback from everyone would be very helpful. I want to have the best phone of the two.

I have checked out the reviews. All are good. My biggest question is what they can do on price for me. They're making me want to switch after being a cust for 5 years. Try to get answers and all I get is transferred, and most of the time the rep doesn't speak english or barely does. The call goes to the phillipines. I'm not liking the centro, despite the fact that they gave us a really good deal. Basically two for one. That's the only reason we got them. The whole thing is just really pissing me off. I've tried out the pearl 8130 at best buy and liked it, the only hang up is the cost. Oh help! 😢

Sounds like it's time to switch carriers. No phone will be any good without a good carrier. I love Verizon. I know that people complain about verizon because of price. Many carriers will offer more for the money but reliability is where it's at for me. Good luck! Email me and I'll send you what Consumer Reports has to say about Sprint. hrmles1@earthlink.net David

What does verizon give you as far as a data plan with the pearl 8130? With sprint, there's a different plan i think.

I think sprint has the same thing. In your opinion, is pearl better than centro?

data plan for BB on verizon is either 24.99/10mb or 29.99 for unlimited. 44.99 if you need to be able to sync with corporate exchange server (not sure what this is, you probably don't need it)

I have the 8130 and I love it. Outstanding PDA!
