Check out Google Maps Beta at www.google.com/gmm. I just downloaded it and it works great! It's not GPS but it uses cell phone towers to triangulate your approximate location. Not as accurate as GPS but it works for me.

Yes, that's one of the drawbacks to the positioning software relying on the cell towers. The more towers and the closer together they are placed the more accurate your location will be. I'm in Chicago and it usually positions me two or three blocks from where I am actually at.
