My wife is having the same issue, she is now seeing it on her third voyager. She loves the phone otherwise...

Did she ever get it resolved? I love the phone as well but I can't have calls dropping for a equipment issue like this.

I have had my voyager since the day it came out and have noticed mine to power cycle when viewing text messages and so on......Before I went on to another one, which I never did, I tried their floor model and it did it to!I personally think that its all linked to the internet! When I was on the internet,I went to autotrader and the phone reset after I punched in the type of car and the zip,the one at the store does the same thing. I'm a phone finatic and almost went onto another model, but its something that I can live with, for now atleast. 🙄 I'm still planning on keeping this phone for the long run. I know that its a software defect and hopefully they'll come out with a sofware update to fix it. Basically, getting a replacement phone ...

I have a feeling that they all do it!!! Its not a big enough issue to get rid of the phone, for me atleast!

Contrary to what some people are telling you, it's not normal. I've owned mine since the day voyager was released, and my SO got one a couple of months later and neither of ours has ever power-cycled. Ever. Not once.

I suspect it is more likely your local connection rather than a fundamental defect in the phone or its software. If your local service is bad, you can try a new voyager every week and the problem won't go away. I suggest you should direct your complaints to your local service rather than the phone.

The only thing I can say towards the service is that all of my previous phones worked without issue on the network and I used to work for them so I know where the deadzones are and previous co workers still advise on updates to the network. i don't think it is the network.

Had mine since beginning of Jan and it started doing it for a month now. Just up and shuts off, sometimes comes back on, other times I have to turn it on. One thing that has happened in last week twice is it shuts down and wont fire back up but the end and send buttons stay lit. I take battery out , put back in and its fine.

this is not normal. i had one of the first voyagers (before the first software update) and it never happened on calls. never on txt pr pix, never on phone calls or anything other then the web browser. i have the lg dare and it does it a little more. but never on calls. only sometimes on the browser and if i try to look at a message that is one of the earliest (like number 1-10 of 200). sorry i dont have an answer as to why its doin it but it shouldnt do it on a call, that is crap. i can understand the browser, and the occasional shut down, but voice calls are vzw bread and butter. that sounds like a problem.

but i believe a software update is comming soon 🙂

p.s.
if enough people call in to cs about this problem they should start a ...
