I have not updated phone from original sw 03 as my phone has had no problems. Was more concerned about introducing bugs or annoying modifications. However, now there have been two SW updated (07)...are the improvements significant (cpmpared to 03)? Any know issues with 07 yet?

Here are a couple of questions that I have!!!Does the browser run faster? What do you mean by you can modify the screen? And finally, do you mean that the touch screen is more accurate? I have the 05 software and I noticed that with the 03 software, the touch screen was a lot more accurate.

Thanks 😁

Did you recalibrate after getting the update? Personally, I haven't noticed any difference in screen sensitivity across any of the upgrades, and I haven't seen anything official that says they did anything about it. I suspect there is some variability from phone to phone.

05 when I sent a text with the QWERTY keyboard and then closed it the front screen was locked, now with 07 it stays unlocked for the default time, which is inconvenient when you want to put it in your pocket right away. other then that the changing of the short cut menu is very limited.

Anyone have any other information on version 07, good or bad? My browser is locking up on the outside screen and I have to open the phone arrow to something and then close the phone and start again. But I don't want any extra problems, or a dead phone. Thank ahead of time.

Both times, I've been advised that there is a slight chance the update process could brick the phone. But if the browser is broken now, it sounds like the phone is partly bricked anyway. What you are describing is not the way it should work. In either case, you should get a new phone on warranty.

I had that problem when I went from v3 to v5...they had to send me a new phone..i got it in 2 days. If I tried to use the WWW from the front screen, it restarted everytime. It was the 29th day that i had the phone so they sent me the new one for free. MArked the old one as DOA and sent it back.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I have version 7 and they disabled sending ringtones to your phone. A friend who has version 5 can still do it, though. I think I'd rather have v5 for the ringtone feature rather than being able to customize the icons on my menu.

I dont understand that one. I got my phone with v5 and then took in for the V7 and i still download ringtones and videos. I make my own and send to phone and I use phonezoo and everything is fine.Maybe something wrong with your phone, you might want to take in and have checked, maybe upgrade screwed something up.

Actually, I tried again, and it worked. Weird. When I first activated my phone, I tried sending the .mp3 ringtone to my @vzwpix.com address and it bounced back twice... once to my gmail address and once to my yahoo address. I assumed it was something they fixed with v7 because my friend is able to do it and she has v5. Anyway, thanks for letting me know it was possible with v7, otherwise I probably would've never attempted to try it again. Plus, I was getting tired of the "default" ringtone.

that just happens from time to time.... it's because verizon has something on their servers that tries to weed out "ringer" messages.

I use bitpim with the cable that came in the box and it's MUCH faster than doing it any other way.. just run bitpim, plug in the cable, drag the .mp3s into the "ringer" section and send to phone (use the add, not replace all).

it takes all of 10 seconds to send several ringers at once. just be warned, when you drop the mp3 files into that area, it asks about converting them... I just chose the bitrate that I encoded the ringers in (usually 128k for size/quality mix) and hit convert.. then ok. your screen might go black because the conversion is a dos box.. don't get worried. and sometimes depending on th...
