usb mass storage

Some people appear to be having difficulties transferring files to and from the phone using the usb cable. Assuming the usb drivers are installed, connect the phone to the cable and wait for it to be recognized, select settings and tools, then tools, then 9, usb mass storage. After it enters mass storage mode, it will appear shortly as a removable drive in my computer. The folders that verizon wants to let you access on the phone's internal memory (but not on the optional microsd card) will be available for drag and drop. Not all are accessible. With v05 firmware installed, I can get at pictures, music and sounds (but not ringtones).

Note that usb mass storage requires a microsd card to be installed. Amazon is now offering a 1GB card for under $9.00.

I'll be waiting for the price for the 8 GB card to drop under $40, the only mess up thing is that the voyager does not multitask. I hope the next update allow the voyager to multitask, because I use the mp3 player alot, and unforunately, I can not use any of the other applications like texting ☹️

I agree! Not being able to do anything on you phone while listening to music is the only thing I find bad about this phone.

Hello Bruce...I just purchase the Voyager and a 8GB MicroSD Card for it.
Concerning the USB Mass Storage operation, when I do what you say in your post, the Phone displays in My Computer as a removable Drive, but the results I see may be different. I see what is the same as the Folders that are on the External MicroSD Card.
What am I missing here? What is it that I am really seeing in My Computer? Has this USB Mass Storage operation duplicated internally on the phone that which was on the External MicroSD Card?

I manually added to the MicroSD Card a Folder named Ringers. I see this folder in My Computer along with the other Folders, Media; my_pix; my_sounds; my_videos; my_music developed during the Phone Formatting the SD Card.
