Internal Keypad Buzzing

Now I'm not sure if this is in relation to the thread here: https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/p_forum.php ?fm=m&ff=1333&fi=1473730

But my keypad makes a small buzzing noise when it lights up. I tried adjusting the backlight on the internal screen thinking it was the problem cause I noticed the noise went away when the screen dimmed. But so does the keys, so when I turned off the backlight on the keys themselves it doesn't do that buzzing anymore. I'm just wondering if this is happening to anyone else and if there's an easy fix for it. It's really not an issue to just have the keypad backlight off, but still, I'm sure you can see where I'm coming from. Other than that small issue, great phone, my favorite one yet. Thanks for your time in re...

It is not a problem it is design. Its actually the screen that is making the buzzing. Replacing the phone will not fix the issue. Try it put your ear up to the lcd

It's actually the backlight to the keys that is causing the buzzing. I thought it was the screen at first, but when I turned the backlight off on the keys, it stopped buzzing. So yeah, I'm probably going to take it back around the end of the month and test it out to make sure it doesn't do that anymore.

This is happening to me as well. It's really bad. I thought it was the screen as well at first. If others are NOT having this problem I would like to know (put your ear up to the internal keypad when it's lit up, it's kind of a high pitched whine). I'm going to try exchanging it (have to do it through mail because I purchased online)

you do not have to return it online if you bought it online.

Are you sure? I'll ask CS but I was going to return it and I was required to do it online/mail, couldn't return it (for a different phone) in a store according to CS.

My phone's internal display does not make a sound. If it were me, I would be heading back to the store for a replacement. Just my 2 cents.

My phone was working just fine up until today when it too started making the buzzing sound. I was at the store today regarding my account and even showed it to the Customer Service rep because she had the Voyager as well.

I went to Tech Support for help with this and the rep claimed he didn't hear a noise. He took me over to see the Voyager that was on display to hear it and obviously, there was no noise coming from there but there was coming from mine. He again said that he didn't hear it, but went back to go see if they had any replacements, which of course they didn't.

The noise is really aggravating, especially since it wasn't there a few hours ago and I hope there will be a way to resolve it soon!

How could he not hear it? If it's doing what mine is doing, you can definitely hear it but I suppose it could be a challenge in a typically busy Verizon store. I'm going to swap for a replacement ASAP.

I don't know, I think he just didn't know how to fix it so he told me he didn't hear it. You can definitely hear it when you put it close to your ear and like I said, the Customer Service rep also heard it. Anyway, he took down my name and number to let me know when they'll be getting more in, but from the success of them taking down information and calling the first time around, I'm really not expecting much.

I think it's just a characteristic of some electronic devices. I hear a buzzing sound coming from my Pentax camera charger when I charge my battery and this has been happening for a couple of years and I have had no problems with the battery or the charger. It only happens when I put the camera on the charger and not if I just put the battery by itself. I never bothered to call the manufacture about this and now, I am totally out of warranty but never had any problems.

Just use your phones and enjoy them. I've seen complaints about the plastic creaking on some phones too. LOL This is the reason you got the phone to enjoy it. If everyone spends so much time looking for problems than how the heck are you supposed to enjoy it? If the buz...

Noone is stopping you from enjoying your phone that you claim you won't have any issues with prior to receiving it. Why would you care if someone wants to return their phone because they are dissatisfied for any reason?

The buzzing is annoying. If only a couple of us notice it, then either it's a few defective phones, or it doesn't bother anyone else, but I don't have to put my ear up to it to hear it in a quiet room.

Your camera charging most likely when you aren't even around it is different then texting extensively and constantly hearing it.

okay..heres what i've figured out so far..go to settings on ur phone..display..backlight..and turn off you internal keypad's backlight..thats what causing my phone to make that noise..once its off it shouldnt make any more noise..but then..you wouldnt be able to see the keys you are typing..seems like this phone has a few defects..cause as stated in other threads..my phone turns off and restarts by itself also..but even with these little problem i still love my phone.. i think it is still a great phone.. im exchanging it on weds. for another voyager tho..since i complained to them about the buzzing sound they said they will try to get me one on weds. cause they are all sold out and hopefully their shipments will be enough..oh and by the way....

Take the phone back (when they have more) and get it replaced. It shouldn't be making any noise. Mine doesn't.
