phone was so hyped up and sorry to say its not verygood at all.. for example internet browser is so slow its not worth having. another thing is that the front touch screen interface is sometimes not responsive at all, the menus are not
interesting at all (lame and too basic vz os), the actuall call quality is just average.
navigating a website with front display is imposible!!!!! Should have had windows or original lg os. have had a moto q for 2 years did hate it but will probably go back.

pros: cool looking
camera is ok
battery is ok
nice screens

cons:everthing else
internet browser sux
need to work on responsive ness of touch screen

im right there with you dude. i was tryin to decide wether i wanted the voyager or the iphone more, so i decided to play with one to see if it would convince me. didnt like it. its pretty much my phone now (enV) with a touchscreen and a new UI look. Like u said the browser is very slow, even the iphone on edge seemed faster, and the responsivness of the touch screen is very annoying. everytime i tried to scroll i ended up pressing something i didnt want, very frustrtaing. i had very high hopes for this phone and it let me down to say the least.

You can not do it in seven seconds! An iPhone can over WiFi! All cell phone internet is but ugly slow compared to WiFi and a decent broadband connection.

A portable device needs WiFi. EVDO is only available close to certain metro areas and it is a big time battery killer. If you are not on EVDO you are on a phone network slower than teh improved low speed edge used by AT&T.

I know becasue I use EVDO on occasion in my VX LG VX phone with the super long life battery. Only a fool would try that without one or you would be surfing the net for a short while and not able to even make a 911 phone call as the battery would be depeleted completely.

The screen is not a TOUCH screen per say. It is a PRESSURE sensitive screen which means u must put pressure on it; it will be alot easier to use once you do. The fruit phone is a touch screen; two different animals.

ahh ok, i didnt know it was pressure sensitive, that would explain why i couldnt get it. I guess ill have to go back to the VZW store and play with one some more to get a better feel for it, who knows i may even buy one to test drive i can always return it

ps if this phone i had the iphones web browser i would have bought it immedietly. its definetly an improvment over the browser i have on the enV but it still didnt amaze me

I've had no problems with my browser.. and I have terrible signal in my home (GSM phones can't even get on the network here).. so maybe it's just your signal?

I think it's actually quite an improvement over the previous VZ os's... you can change the font, the wallpapers fit properly without figuring out strange dimensions caused by the clock bar (which now can be disabled or changed)..

Also, every call I've made has been crystal clear.. maybe this is another issue related to your signal?

I dunno, I love this phone and it's easy to use. The scrolling works fine and it's accurate. Maybe you just need to do a calibration and then be a little more patient with the scrolling.. I've had no issues.

I just called tech support and they said that there's absolutely NO recall.... the tech actually made the comment that those rumors are probably going around just to dissuade people from looking into the voyager...

....so, how's your iPhone?

There is no informatin regarding a recall on this device. The device was just launched yesterday the 21st, therefore there are no known problems with the device at this time, the other thing is that this is the first batch of phones that people received yesterday, if there becomes a known problem with the device the manufacturer will launch a software update to resolve the issue. The device is not up for recall...this is where the problems lie when people start rumors.

It was prob started by jealous Iphone owners who know that the Voyager is a threat to their precious phone.

I agree w/ you completely. When people create rumors, p[eople will believe just about anything people tell them which is not a good thing. People shouldn't be starting rumors off in the first place. Just my 2 Cents.

Hell I witnessed their problems first hand today in their demo Voyager in a VZ company store. Seven unoccupied salesmen and none bothered to pull the defective Voyager and replace it with a good working one.

This is in a store where the Voyager had not even left their property! How much of a hassle is it going to be for the people that actually buy this thing only to realize after a few days they got stuck with a lemon? This is the flagship phone for Verizon that was supposed to be competition to the AT&T iPhone. Believe me there is no comparison! I am not really sure this is a decent upgrade to the old VX9800 which felt better made in your hands. They have really cheapened the quality of their product to maintain margins.

I played with the browser at a store. Maybe I'm not used to it but I tried going to phonescoop and just trying to move the screen got me into the holiday guide... which I didn't want. The browser seems very slow... is it using EVDO??? anyone try a speed test on the voyager?

Yes, my browser is not slow at all. Its very nice actually...loads pages nicely and renders them perfectly. I nave no problems with my touch screen. You need to learn how to use it and it becomes very simple.

I did a speed test and was able to get 228k-280k. Which is very good...my coworkers iphone on the same side pulled down 105-120k

the screen is touch sensitive. if you want to scroll you need to push down and hold while you scroll with your finger. its not like the iphone where you can flick your finger and it scrolls

Ok so you need to apply a little bit of pressure to the touch screen, hold your finger down and move the screen down and it'll move with your finger,. That's just how the Voyager's screen works...but once you get used to it like you said, it works fine eh? That's good to hear. So, after getting used to it, can you say that the touch screen is easy to use. I just don't think that enough people are giving it a chance that's all.

Yeah, I was so use to my best friend iPhone that the touch screen seemed bad. But, after having my phone for the past 2 days I'm getting use to it. Yes, especially scrolling thru the Contact book you need to use your nail because the scrolling is to close to the contact boxes. Certain websites it's easier for me to just open up the phone & use the keypad arrow buttons to go up & down.
As far as speed.. works faster than my friends iPhone (NYC). Also, use the optimize web browser... much faster. Opening up Phonescoop main page only took about 16 seconds compared to the iPhone 47 seconds!

Tell me something, what's the difference between the opimized web browser and just typing in a website from the main homepage? Yeah this info sounds good to me for sure so thanks for it!

Wait you don't need to use your nail on the contacts list - the scroll bar on the right serves only a visual purpose and is not interactive. Just drag along the contacts up or down like you're moving a piece of paper. Unless I'm misunderstanding you... But I had original thought that as well because moving the scroll bar in Windows and other UIs for years it's the logical assumption.

It seems to have acceleration, where you can go (kind of) fast and it keeps spinning for a bit.

So either the original poster is just a troll (very likely as he just made the account on the 22nd, posted twice and hasnt been back) or is just a stupid person that didnt read the user manual to their phone and doesnt know how to use it.

oh yeah, and makes comments about the UI they know nothing about.

I am thinking this person never touched a voyager as they say "lame and too basic vz os" about the interface LG used on the phone...

I wish the phone used the basic VZW UI, because then when the idiots that got it that shouldnt be buying a phone that isnt a basic clamshell and are too lazy to read the user manual (another reason they should just get a basic clamshell) call in and dont even know how to use their phone I could just wal...
