I went to my local Circuit City and asked to play with the "demo" model...Don't get me wrong, this is an AWESOME phone, but for some reason, it didn't "wow" me.

I used to own the EnV and traded it in for the BlackBerry 8830, but I am not sure this was the best move...There is something about being "always reachable" that has started to stress me out.

I love QWERTY phones, so I am looking for one to replace my BlackBerry.

I had high hopes for the Voyager, but after playing with it, it left me with a few questions.

First:
Why isn't it a slider? Is it really necessary to have two 2.8 inch screens? Wouldn't this have distinguished it enough from the EnV to make it more appealing to a broader variety of people?

Second:

Thanks for your impressions and thoughts.

I also played with one at CC until my neck and back killed me 🙂 Wish they would provide a chair.......LOL

I ended up with thoughts and impressions 180 degrees from you. I got the wow factor instantly and have one on pre-order.

I really think "you" are looking for a different phone than most peeps who will be getting the Voyager.

I am so happy that it is NOT a slider and I love both screens and the ability to use each screen entirely separate from each other.

The size of the phone to me is perfect. I am a big guy with big hands and love the size of the phone and keyboard,

2 different peeps and 2 different opinions........LOL. Sure am glad they make so many choices nowadays 🙂🙂🙂

I really think they should have made it a slider like the Lg Rumor,it is much easier to open one handed than this Env, always afraid it is going to fly out of my hands.

I think what you folks are looking for is the Samsung SCH-i760. This unit has a slide with full QWERTY and a rather large screen. Check this VZW phone out (especially with Black Friday coming--hint hint! 😉 ) I think you will awesomely, pleasantly surprised. Keep in mind it is a PDA while the Voyager is not.

ALSO, I have had a 3-day stent with the Voyager and believe me when I tell you it is well worth the price!!

I have played with the Voyager and its really cool for Verizon customers who wanted a Iphone without the bad reception. Menus are similar to the Prada in a way. The TV antenna feels a bit flimsy and it will break easily it treated harshly.
Other than the touch screen and the tv service this is pretty much the Env with a bigger screen. Dont expect anything special like pda like features.
Browser will determine the real reason for the touch screen.
Good luck getting one after Thanksgiving weekend, many stores have said they dont have plenty in stock. HAPPY HUNTINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the i760...I am interested, but I am waiting for the VX6800 before I buy my next phone.

The Voyager looks nice, but I want/need something that can sync with Oracle Calendar...this is my biggest gripe with the BlackBerry.
