Guys

I am yes somewhat falling in love with this puppy.. Long time coming, but it's great except for 2 issues..

The battery life is tough.. 2 hours and 15 mins max so far out of 6 days of use..

The killer right now is the outside screen. The caller ID is black on a blue backround.. Very hard to see.

They need to put a way to change the backround color to white for instance so you can see it better.

Any ideas ?

You can change the color to red, purple and a lighter color.
Look at display options, front screen.

today I got 4 hours of talk time in a strong EVDO area.

Double -

1st - You are talking about the colors of the clock backround for the front clock.

There are no display options for front screen!

For the front clock yes you can set it to
Normal Blue
Normal Red
Normal Water
Analog
Hor. Digital
Vertical Digital

Yes there are different colors there but none of this matters when the phone rings. It defaults to a silly blue backround with the black text that is horrible to try and read and forget in the daylight..

try it again my friend, let me know

Also, On your 4 hours of talk.. Check this out.. I wrote a document a year ago about the fake minute counter and how off it is.. The counters are off by huge increments. When you get call waiting , they lose their mind and double t...

You know I never looked at it when it rang as opposed to the outside setting for normal display but I will do some experimenting now.

As for the call counter, I am also going to do likewise and try and just use my watch when I get a call.

I appreciate the feedback.

Tomorrow is day 29 for me......lol but I am definitely going to keep this one. I will now go out and get a car charger (was holding out till I decided if I was going to keep it).

Seriously, I just got rid of my RAZR V3M after going through 3 of them for various reasons and the battery life on that was no picnic either.

I guess we just have to accept that with a battery capacity of less than 1000, each of the new "thin" phones are going to have not the best performa...

I know what you mean about the timers when tracking your minutes. It is the same for actual minutes that you are charged. Minutes round up and don't record in seconds.

I have had the phone for a month now and I did a little experiment one day when I was watching a movie at the house. I got my wifes phone and had it call my phone, then I left them both open until the batteries died. I started with a full charge and the phone lasted 3 hours and 44 minutes.

One thing that will influence your battery life is what setting you have your screen and keyboard lights on. If you have it set for always on, then you are going to have less battery per call minutes. If you select like 30 seconds for the screen and keyboard to be on when not ...

I set mine for 30 seconds for the inside display, same for the keyboard display (I hated when my RAZR would always blank out on me in a dark car).

I set the front to time out after 7 seconds because how long do you need to stare at the outside display since you've seen who is calling etc?
