Voice Command

Has anyone tried using the button on phone instead of headset? Just a thought. I had the phone for 1 day but never tried it. LG confirmed it was designed that way. Pretty stupid for someone using for business & driving all day. Have to leave it on seat opened.

I have tried it both ways. The results are not great. I believe one of the largest problems is my well defined contact list. The list is eight years old and is organized by last name, them first name. The phone's voice command has a lot of trouble with complicated last names. Single syllable simple names seem easy to it. So if your calling hunting dogs ..... no problem other than hunting dogs don't answer cell phones.

I have no problem. Use first names and keep it short. Long names seem to miss. Really misses. Use a noise cancellation headset.

Have you or anyone else had experience with both the 8700 and the Moto e815? I have the 815, and the voice dial works awesome with my 200+ name phonebook. I save the names first name/last name.

I love the look and feel of the 8700, but it would be a bummer if it was a step backward with the voice commands. Does anyone know if it's similar/better/worse than the 815? Thanks!

Yes, the 815 and a950. Both use 'Voice Signal' would send every command to text. Had the 815 for about an hour. Didn't like it. Spent over an hour with Sammy on 2 brand new phones. Always sent commands to text. Have always had great results with LG's voice dial. My 8100 works excellently with voice commands. Rarely misses. Just don't like the idea of having to open the flip to use it.
