Any way to keep front display always on?

Hello,

I just started using my new VX8700 today, and what I've noticed so far is excellent sound quality and reception, beautiful high resolution interior screen, and wonderful camera quality. So far, the only thing that I don't like about the phone is that there doesn't appear to be a way to force the front screen to stay on. The only setting that I found will keep the front screen on for at most 30 seconds. My old phone (a VX 6100) was nice because the front display would always be on, but the backlight would turn off after a specified amount of time. I like the display to be on because then I can just glance at my phone for the time, or to see if I've missed a call, etc. Now I have to hit a button to turn the front screen on. Not...

most likely this is a design feature. they wanted a glass-like look from the outside.
Also to conserve battery life on the phone they decided to keep the outside completely of.
I do however completely agree with what your saying. what I would do is set the outside display to the shortest time. then get in the habit of pressing the button to see what time it is. that way it will save on your batt life and you will be able to see what time it is. hope this helps.

FROM the previous response, is there anyway to increase the lady's voice prompts (when you dial a digit, or go through the menu options? The only way that you can hear her is through the earpiece? She is barely recognizable. LG what is the deal? Am I missing something? How can you go through the menu and dial while holding the earpiece up to your ear? The other LG's and sadly to say Razr, you can hear the voice prompts usually in another room. Another quirk as previously discussed, even though they give you the option to change the font size, the software will not allow you to do so. I giv...

Thanks FAUguy for this helpful tip...but i have a follow up question - for some reason after i powered down or charged the phone for a long period of time, it went back to having the Power Save Mode "ON". Why did it change back?

Are there any other helpful hints in the ##PROGRAM8700 menus that are worth mentioning?

Thanks!
