Is there no headset jack?

According to the stats, no headset jack is listed. If you want to use a hands-free earpiece, are you forced to go BlueTooth?

So there is no headset jack. I like this phone, but I don't like that I would be forced to by a bluetooth headset.

Bluetooth is for dorks as far as I can see. I never see anyone with a bluetooth piece in their ear without laughing at them. Just looks like people trying to live out a Star Trek fantasy or thinking they're all that because they have a blue light flashing next to their melon. 🤣

How else do you propose being hands-free as is required while driving in many states? Does it look less dorky to use a wired headset? You must be on the precipice of dorkdom if something as trivial as a bluetooth headset is what would make you a dork. If Giselle Bundchen was wearing a bluetooth headset and acknowledged your presence, I'm guessing you'd still need to change your pants.

The LG VX-8700 comes with a multi link adaptor that plugs into the same place as the charger (on the left side of phone marked by a small headset symbol); therefore, you can use headphones/headsets!

I saw a headset or headphone jack in an attachment that goes to the phone. It looks like a 2inch cable with a connection for the power and a small headphone jack to connect to the phone. I am not sure if they can be used for headsets for talking or just headphones for listening.

And just like the RAZR and SLVR, these units cannot change and be used for a wired headset at the same time so if you are someone who normally dries and talks for hours on end,you need to consider that as an option/drawback.

From Verizon:
The Headset Adapter allows you to use any 2.5mm corded headset and power your handset at the same time.

Phone Scoop specs only list whether a phone has a standard 2.5mm headset jack. Nearly all phones let you attach a headset one way or other. If it's not 2.5mm then it's a proprietary connector that requires a special headset or an adapter.

Looks like my wired headset is still usable with the 8700. And, according to NRP, I can still charge it while using it. From all I've read, this might be the phone for me when I upgrade next month.

I'm certainly not against bluetooth while driving. I think some kind of hands free device, regardless of what it is, is absolutely necessary, so you can use both hands to drive. And not worrying about an extra cable in my car would be nice.

I just think people who wear bluetooth headsets everywhere look a little silly. It's also nice to know that if I get the 8700, I don't HAVE to immediately run out and get a bluetooth headset.

look in the box the phone came in...any phone that does not take a standard 2.5mm jack comes with an adapter that plugs in the charging port in which you can then plug in your wired headset. The downfall to this is you can't charge your phone and talk at the same time. Phones that are like this included the razr..8600..env..chocolate..most phones are going to this now due to the popularity of bluetooth headsets

I have the phone and the adaptor they now provide has 2 holes in it. One for the 2.5mm standard headset and the other for the charger to plug into. You can charge the phone and talk on a wired headset at
the same time with this phone unlike the RAZR.

Hi all: I have only owned this phone for 12 hours.

I downloaded one song to try it out and wanted to listen to it through the headset adapter and wired headset. For the most part, I don't envision myself listening to music on the phone speaker -- rather via headset on a plane, bus, etc.

I have 2 wired headsets but they must have 3.5mm plugs because they are too bit to fit in the tiny headset/TTY jack. I have a metal adapter that allows the 3.5mm plug to fit the jack in the 8700 headset adapter -- however, no sound comes through at all.

So, my question is -- has anyone actually USED a wired headset through the enclosed adapter that comes with the phone and gotten good results?

I plan to buy a bluetooth headset for driving; but d...

I have never tried using a wired headset. There is a non-OEM plastic holster that you can clip the phone into with the display facing out. Here is one:

Hey thanks, that's great! I'll order it today.

Question -- can you listen to music through a monaural (single earpiece) bluetooth headset?

Also....just for those interested in custom ringtones....someone in these forums posted info about myxertones.com yesterday. I went there and tried it....and spent nearly the whole day downloading ringtones! It was so fun! Free! Easy! You can pick which part of your songs from your computer you want to be your ringtones. I love my ringtones now!

Thanks for the help, nvsengy! 😁
