I tried the Sync. Many people rave about it, but I didn't like it. Poor speaker quality, horrible shutter delay on the camera... Bluetooth only worked on calls, so with the that and the bad speaker, any kind of video, which is what I want a 3g phone for, was unwatchable.

I have the V3xx and I love the phone , If your interested in tethering your phone to a laptop or desktop this is the phone to get . I have been using it as a wireless modem while still able to make phone calls at the same time (I used the blue-tooth 2.0 connection rather than a usb cord). The v3xx is the only 3g phone right now that is ready for the bump up in speed to 3.6mbps later on this year most of the other 3g phones including the sync only support up to 1.8mbps. I'm really a Sony guy but I had to give props were props is due and this is a pretty good phone. 😁

Hey morpheus928, could you give me some tips on how to tether the V3xx to say a laptop or pc. Did you opt in for the $59.99 laptop connect with cingular?

no need for the 59.99 laptop connect, don't use cingular software to tether it and all you will need is the unl data plan, of 19.99 like the media max 200....i used the USB cord to tether mine using motorola phone tools and i got about 300kbps...i expected more don't know if the software restricted it or the usb cord?

did you test the bluetooth speed? i have bluetooth built into my comp but its about 2 years old now so it prob doesnt get the faster data rates.....but how did yours perform?

Neither phone, I just returned the Sync, It dies=d on me randomly, the sound on the speakers went out making me miss important calls, I almost dropped it multiple times tryiong to open it to answer calls.it has no voice activated dialing so bluetooth is uselss. and well the Razr is well a razr...its got a low 1 megapix camera, a very very poor 3.17 hours talk time, and well the body structure is flimsy use the compareside by side spec option on phone scop and you'll see, neither phone is worth the money, wait for somthing with quality, like the Nokia n75 If it ever comes out

Are you sure you owned the v3xx because it does have voice activated dialing, the battery life is much longer than that listed, and the body structure is no flimsier than any other thin profile phone on the market?

his comment about the voice dialing was projected towards the SYNC which does not have voice dial.....well i take that back, every cingulr phone has voice dial its that 4.99 feature that sales reps like to throw on accounts without people knowing...lol

anyways your right, the phone (v3xx) is not flimsy at all, it is surprisingly sturdy, and has great reception, only problem i've had with it is my bluetooth link keeps going in and out.
