I Give Up, Nokia lost another customer, Hello Samsung Sync

👿 I have been a die hard Nokia Fan for years, Always dealing with negative people and phones that broke easily, like my Nokia 6102 whihc i had replaced 3 times. I have been loyal, i have been Patient, And i am done. When i worked for Cingular I sold Nokia to anyone and everyone, and today as a Qwest Sales Rep i still try to sell our Nokia Phones. But after yet another delayed phone, that may or may not hit cingular, like the 6126 which i waited and waited for. i am done with you Nokia. I once dreamt of working for you thats how much i loved your phones and all you do is is lie to your customers. So hello Samsung, maybe you won't piss me off so much, I'm getting the Sync this Friday, I'll let you all know how it works out

darkness, i feel the same way as u. i waited for the N75 too, but i gave up about 2 weeks ago, and got myself the w810i. the sony ericsson w810i is a great phone, and I would highly recommend that you check it out. the sync is pretty big IMO. if you dont mind the lack of 3G, consider the w810i. if you do, then the sync might be your only option.

I'm feeling that way more and more, some people say, mid Febuary, some people say April, local store couldn't give me a date, but could give me a price. $200 w/2 year contract, $400 w/o contract. Since I get 25% off non contract price on phone's probably will pay $300 and keep options open. Nokia fans hate the Sync, reviews here seem good, people who have them like them. Other option is the V3xx. I can wait a few more weeks, but not to April.

Same here. Very disappointed. Tried the Sync, didn't like it for reasons I said elsewhere on this forum. 3xx does seem like my only option for all I'm looking for, but feel like I'm really taking a step down from the N75. But April? I just can't wait that long! Arrrg!!

Hey guys..I don't get the problem here..if you want an excellent Nokia..why not buy an unlicked unbranded N80ie or N73? I don't get the deal with buying a branded locked phone anyway

For me, it's price. I've been happy with cingular for years, and you can't beat the contract discounts. Plus, I have to have 3g.

Because they aren't 3g on Cingulars network.

I guess when they finally get around to having 3G in my neck of the woods I'll pay attention to it..could be that T mobile will have their high speed network in place first..so for me I'll stay on the sidelines. No sense in a 3G phone when the network doesn't exist-other than 3G the N75 doesn't hold a candle to other phones such as the SEw810i anyway

I beg to differ. But that's a matter of personal taste and needs. But I wonder, if you feel so poorly about the N75, why are you on this thread?

Well I agree about cingy most likely screwing us out of another great phone. But on the other hand, I had the sync and it was a good phone, but the reception was so terrible on them I had to get rid of it as fast as possible. Friend has w810i and we would be sitting in the same place, and there would be 2 to three bars on the sony vs. no service on my phone. But the w810i is AWESOME!! Definately would recomend it, I purchased the 3125 and its a good phone, nothing to write home about but its ok.

to idersch-that really is none of your business..but since u ask-a member of my family on my plan lives in a metro area w/3G and i was thiking of upgrading his/her phone if the N75 is available..i don't think poorly of it-i like Nokias..i just think that cingular dumbs down all their branded phones- so unless there is a major advantage to a brfanded phone, i prefer unlocked unbranded phones such as the N80 or N73..whatever services are available on a branded phone don't really interest me-and fortunately the cost of an unlocked phone is not an issue. ive always been partial to nokia but recently got an unlocked w810 to use until 3G hits my area and i'll tell anybody that it is really the most impressive phone ive used in a long time-just lac...

I have used 3G/HSDPA on 8525/Blackjack. If you're a business user, I understand using the 3G connection for browsing, maybe downloading large attachments, or even tethering (expect to pay laptop connect pricing $60 a month), but what does 3G do on a N75 ? Cingular Video/MobiTV are the best things that come to my mind, and maybe browsing... for $20 a month.

I have used Cingular Video and MobiTV and have not been impressed. It's not getting realtime TV on a phone and the screen is so small. At least on an 8525 you can make it bigger, but forget about it on flip phones or even blackjack.

When I got my w810i unbranded last June, and I heard that Cingular was coming with the 3G Network, I was kicking myself for not waiting longer, eventuall...

Hrm, these forums don't allow to edit...

Err: "Also $200 for a month and locked into a 2 year deal seems a bit long", I meant $200 for a phone ...

Excellent post-you could almost read my mind..the only thing I can see as an advantage for 3G is to tether to your laptop or even the nokia internet tablet N800 is very cool..I can do that from my W810i, but edge speed is not very adequate..good for an emergency in the airport tho without paying a tmobile (or whatever) hotspot fee. I didn't know you could use shoutcast to stream music on edge..does shoutcast have a wap site? Unfortunately i opted for the N73 before Nokia came out with the N80ie..I was waiting for that but not long enough..i think i'll just suck up another $500 and get the N80ie-I've heard good things about it..where did you buy yours?

Here is the link:

I got mine from Tiger Direct, I got the N80ie US version, so it has 12 months warranty from Nokia. The Black one has limited 3 months warranty and I think it's a non IE. I chose Tiger Direct (it has a bit of higher prices + I pay tax in illinois) instead of Ebay or import stores, but at least it has a 30 day return policy:

If you got one of their Warehouses close to where you live, they have lot of unlocked phones including Nokia's (no N73 though) and they have lot of other electronics, PC stuff, etc 🙂

Thx for the info..i've used tiger direct a lot for ordering stuff for my ofc..monitors..etc. I didn't realize they sold the n80. It appears to be the internet edition, but you don't get a choice of colors..it's about $20 cheaper than the nokia site, which also has a 30 day return.

They have two N80 (silver and black), I wanted the black, but that was not the IE. So I chose the Silver/Bronze version.

I bought my wife the Sync. Nice phone, but it won't hold a candle to a N75.

Everyone bitches about the delays... hey I'm dying for this phone too, but keep in mind that you been getting the inside Scoop on the arrival date. Your average Joe Blow does'nt no a thing about this phone. As far as I can tell nobody - Nokia or Cingy. has made any OFFICIAL release date , so technically no promises have been broken.

Thank God I have a Nokia 6682 to tied me over till something like the N75 comes along.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I bought a Nokia N73. I love it. At this rate the N76 will be out before the N75.
