I work for Cingy and talked to a marketing director(person resonsible for approving phones and promos for his region). He stated a mid january release also.

Good things come to those who wait.

No offense but what bull****. Is this going to end up like the N80? Cingular announced that it would carry the N80, just to get publicity, then they delayed release, then delayed again, and again, and finally decided not to carry it. You probably had people making the same statement during the N80 failures as well.

Listen would you want a phone that works when you walk out the door or one with constant issues? Think about it Cingular tries to keep their customer base by providing quality not just what the people want. If the companys that make the phones do not have exact specs as required by the carrier the carrier will nix the phone. And use spell check and proper english next time you post something. For all of you true users...hopefully I can give you more information after Monday Dec. 18th. Peace.

no, i dont need to use proper grammar. this is an internet message board, dedicated to discussing phones. nobody here cares about proper punctuation and grammar. get off my back.

i understand that cingular needs to test their phones. but when nokia says that the phone will be available in november, I am sure that they factored the testing process in. and you should know that cingular does take such a long time to test their phones, and when they come out, some are still buggy.

if you dont believe me, go read up on the cingular sync which had inital software problems even after it passed cingular's "quality" testing

There were grammatical errors in your post as well, so unless you are without sin, do not go around casting stones. Having said that, hold your breath until this phone coming out. Cingular screwed Nokia AGAIN. All they want are RAZR's from Moto. They don't want anything great from Nokia. You probably won't ever see this phone.

Icyhot, I am in complete agreement with you about Cingular. I used to work for both AT&T Wireless and Cingular. There is a sad and huge difference between the two companies. AT&T had a WONDERFUL relationship with Nokia. Nokia was our best friend. When Cingular took over AT&T Wireless, that relationship was thrown out for Motorola. I was shocked to see the Nokia E62 being sold by Cingular. I would love to buy the N75 but seeing Cingular's track record, I am beginning to lose hope.

hmm, well if perhaps Cingy had some better software developers they wouldn't keep screwing up phones!! Case in point.. they dropped the 6230 as it was too buggy. and what do you know.. it was Cingys firmware that was the problem.. also I have one of those "buggy" N80s and wow.. without the cingy stamp I have nary an issue. Enough with the Razor!! Its a piece of crap..
I can only hope they are holding off for a FP1 update to the phone (to include HSPDA) eh.. doesn;t matter, I'll probably get an iPhone anyways.. 🤣

I love(d) my cingy 6230, in fact, I still use it as a go-phone for my kids, works fine, battery lasts. If there were problems, I never had them.

BS????

Call it what you like, you are entitled.

Fact: no press release came from Cingular stating the n80 would be carried. It did show up on some internal spreadsheets as a phone that was being considered. It was not made with us 3G, only 2100. Do you want to spend all that money on a device that does not reach it's full potential? If so, you can still buy one. They are available at Nokia.com.

The 6126 was announced, then cancelled. Things happen. The why never trickled down, but I'm sure it was for a valid reason.

When tthe 6682 was released and had software issues, we got blasted for putting out an inferior product(was fixed after a short time, I still use a 1st edition w/32k sim)). Looks like a no win situation for us.

i think hes just frustrated because cingular has a terrible track record for releasing phones. in fact, prolly the worst track record.

treo 680
treo 750
razr v3i
nokia n75
krzr k1

the list goes on and on. i personally think they delay more phones than they get them right. i went back and read some of the nokia n75 posts, and guys are saying, "the nokia rep is very confident that cingular will release this in november"

now that we look back on it, and we see that it might not come out till mid january (if that) it really does make you think.

wtf is goin on over there?

I'm tired of cingular as well, I think we're all getting ripped off. Tmobile is releasing phones left and right and here we are 1 phone every 8 mths if that. I think cingular better get their act together. It all comes down to greed their all about cashing in and not putting out thats bad business. As you all know our plans are more expensive as well. What a bunch of quacks over at corporate.

Sounds like "he sais she said". If you guys had more to go on(Cingular itself anouncing, then cancelling), I might consider your point of view.

Cingular can not control what Nokia, Moto or Samsung reps spew.

The following link is to the site where Cingular announces it's newly launched equipment and products. When it's announced at this site, it's official and from Cingular. Everything else that is said is conjecture.

If you were a vendor and you were talking to sales reps, would you try to get them stoked and throw stuff/info out there that would keep the masses interested? Getting
