Verizon User: This is BULL

Hey, everyone heard of the new Nokia 6265 slider that should be coming out? It has the same slider format as this Samsung:

Nokia 6265
Display Type:
LCD (Color TFT/TFD)
Colors: 262,144 (18-bit)
Size: 240 x 320 pixels

Dimensions:
3.86" x 1.89" x 0.87" (98 x 48 x 22 mm)

Bluetooth: Yes

One difference: It won't ever come out! Nope! It shows it's little head, but when it realizes its a Verizon phone, it crawls back in it's hole for another 6 months of Winter!
Obviously, when phones like this Samsung come out, every little GSM owner should be proud, the one time they can be.

I love it

I've been using the phone for a little over a month now. I love samsungs. I was using the E 715 for a long time. When the Razr was launched in the states I grabbed that. The razr is a good phone dont get me wrong, but i don't think it can hold a candle to the 809. In the main review of this phone its mentioned that the Razr is a better built phone, and that the 809 doesn't age well. This I cannot dis-agree with. Although i have had no real issues with its physical design, the sliding mechanism is seeming to wear out rather quickly. Again something about the main review. I have to dis-agree with the comments on the battery life. Now i suppose its possible i have a defective battery. It could also be that i am a relatively high user when it co...

My review...

I researched this phone throroughly and then bought it. My 1st thoughts were that it felt like a POS in my hands. build quality is horrible. feels like a kid's toy. I have owned a se 700i for the past year, so nost comparisons are made from it, but I have also tested other phones.

I would disagree mostly on the speakerphone/mp3 quality. It is definitely the worst ive had. I transferred ther same mp3 from my old phone so I was truly comparing apples to apples. 1st, there is no range(highs or lows) plus the volume was low.

I thought the user interface was quite poor. I especially had trouble with the clear ("c") button b/c it was positioned too close to the directional pad.

bluetooth: Maybe I had a defective phone, but the ra...

buzzing

Has anyone had any problems with this phone making a buzzing noise (similar to the buzzing noise a crappy hands-free headpiece makes) off and on for the person you are talking to? I got one Monday and it mostly just does it in my apartment, but it has once elsewhere. I took it back to the t-mobile store and got a replacement and this one does the same thing.

with all the added features the rokr e2 is making me think its going to be as heavy as my se s710a. is it or not?

The mp3 player

The review said that the mp3 player was limited to mp3's only, but I use .m4a files on mine and they work just as well as mp3's do.

Sim Card fills up with Text's and not phone

OK. I dont know if this is how it works but every time I receive a text message it seems to go to my sim card instead of phone and visa versa.

For example, the sim holds 30 texts and the phone holds 200. How do I adjust it so that all my texts go to my phone? Why do they some how end up in my sim card?

I get that annoying little mailbox on top of the screen saying the sim card is full. Anyway to fix this?

And the dust in the screen is killing me.

Dust under the screen???

i have had the t809 for about a week now. i am happy with it except for no flash on the camera and dust in the screen. does anyone else have dust accumulating between the screen and LCD? the dust is more apparent when the LCD is off and you hold the screen to a light. it is very annoying when you see a few pixels black because the dust particles are blocking the emitting light. the other threads have reported the dust being from the use of the swivel camera. apparently there is a gap that isn't filled between the camera and the top of the LCD screen where the dust can enter the phone. this can be a big issue over time once enough dust gets into the screen. does anyone else have this problem? if so, do you know of a way to clean the dust out?...

W810 Does anybody know if this phone will be branded

I was wondering if this phone will be branded by a carrier and if so who? Or will we have to buy it through retail stores?
Does anybody know if the camera has same features as the W800??
I have the W800 but reception isn't good since it doesn't have the 850 band. But love everything else on the phone. Just wondering if the W810 will have some of the same camera features??? Thanks Rox

mp3 to 3gp-confused,what window has to be opened

im confused, ive looked at all the replies and tried to follow them.i dwnld through limewire.i know im prolly overlookin' something but where did u guys find windows to go to tools?plz explain n plz help

Open up a WINDOWS-where do u open it if not in internet explorer (not in Internet Explorer/Firefox).

Go to Tools (inbetween favorites and help).

Go to Folder Options.

Click the View Tab.

Under Advanced settings, scroll down and uncheck the box that says "Hide Extensions for Known file types."

Click apply.

When you find your mp3, you should be able to see the file extension where it says .mp3. Change it from .mp3 to .3gp. Transfer the file to your phone and it should be recognized..

Hope it helps!

some questions

first of all i'd like to say how amazed i am with how good you guys are at picking apart this phone and making it seem to have less value than it really has. apart from a couple minor problems i think you get pretty good value for your money's worth with this phone. even as i'm writing this i see a banner on this page advertising the razr (which pretty much everyone has now), if u ask me, i think this phone by far surpasses the razr in value. but thats just me and my opinion.

ok well after all that is someone still willing to help me out?

i was just wondering about the dust getting into the screen problem, is there anything i can do to prevent that?

if i'm not mistaken, the head set that came with this phone has the cord leading to ...
