buzzing

Has anyone had any problems with this phone making a buzzing noise (similar to the buzzing noise a crappy hands-free headpiece makes) off and on for the person you are talking to? I got one Monday and it mostly just does it in my apartment, but it has once elsewhere. I took it back to the t-mobile store and got a replacement and this one does the same thing.

Yes. I purchased mine Monday and as soon as I started making calls, the people I talked to said they could hear a buzzing/static noise. So I exchanged it for another one and it has the same problem except that the noise is not as loud and doesn't happen as often.

Gee whiz, I think I'll hang on to my v330!!

I had a V330 and as much as I love that phone This one beats it. So far i havent got no buzzing noise and where i use to get no reception in my house i get now with the t809. This is defenitly a keeper for me 😁

I second this review, except I am coming from cingular with the v220 (worst phone ever) and it sure is easier for me and the other person to talk. However, my camera seems to lock up sometimes when I turn it on.

Yea, I got the buzzing noise on my first one and not as bad on this second T809. Support said to give it 72hrs or so to let it get onto the network fully (which I think is crap, but I'll try it anyways) and we'll see what happens then. Still have 48hrs or so unti I trade for my 3rd one.
Did you ever get yours fixed?

nope, I took my second one back and got the nokia 6101 to tide me over until something else I want comes out (like maybe the t709) and then I will sell the nokia.

I also had the horrible buzzing problem (on the far end of the line, louder whenever I spoke). It came and went randomly, possibly depending on where I was. Being near a wireless network didn't seem to be a factor.
T-Mobile tech support said it wasn't a known issue with the model and claimed it was a faulty microphone. So I exchanged it for another one and it had the exact same problem. I see a lot of other people online complaining about the same thing.
I can deal with the dust getting behind the screen because they left a great big hole under the camera. Fine, whatever. But screwing up the most basic feature of a telephone -- the voice quality -- in a phone that's this expensive? Totally unacceptable.
I returned mine.
