T-Mobile Internet Plan with MDA
If you already don't use and don't intend to use t-mobile hotspots, there's no need for you to upgrade your plan. This phone can hook into nearly any public hotspot, not just, T-mobile's pay service hotspots.
In King County (the county in Washington state where Seattle is located) for example, all public libraries have free an open 802.11b WiFi. This phone will work on just such a hotspot, without having to upgrade.
I don't have any Mobile/Web or SMS add-ons. This means, with the MDA, I can't use IM or surf the web unless I'm connected to the WiFi hotspot. Suits me just fine, though, because there are plenty of hotspots to hop on to.
I'm going to travel around the city, use internet anytime I feel like it for one month and then decide if I really need it or not. I'm not sure I do, because I'm a medical student at the U of WA (free wifi in nearly all the hospital) and I have a WiFi setup at home.
If it turns out that I use the net away from the free zones, then I'll keep paying. But if I can get access most places, or only check things rarely... I can't see any need to...
