Best reception, RAZR or wait for Nokia 6101/6102?
I've been waiting for the new Nokia 6101/6102 to come out. I've heard that it is supposed to have the best reception of any phone Cingular has ever carried.
However, while shopping for an 850 version of the 6101 on eBay (since I will be paying full retail rather than upgrading my Cingular account) I noticed that the price is not much different than a RAZR which is quad band.
So, long story short, I live in rural Kansas and have previously been using a GAIT phone and plan. I know that my GSM coverage will not compare to my GAIT coverage, but my phone is all but finished, and I'd really like a flip rather than a candybar. What's my best bet for maximizing the reception available to me here? RAZR? Nokia 6101/6102? Or something completely ...

RAZR does not have the best reception. My old V60 has better reception, and so does my RAZR replacement, the Nokia 3220. My guess is the 6101 will have even better reception than the 3220.

According to one Cingular store manager I spoke with, he said the stats he had seen on the 6102 showed it as having the best reception of any phone Cingular has ever sold.

Thank you! Thank you! for the info...
Just curious, are these stats available to review? I believe what you are saying, I just would like to see how the 6102 actually looks 'on paper' against like the Motorola v551 for example. Is that possible to find? How does one find this kind of information if they are interested? Thanks again!

Thanks, I have done that, but it does not give any information on the reception of each phone. That is what I wish I could find. ☹️

That does not show RF performance. ☹️

Well, I decided to buy an unlocked 6101 off eBay, since the Cingular release is seeming more and more like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I'll let you know how it works out!
