LG VX-8100

Sorry for the length of this.....

Ok....I've been lurking here for a few days. I'm due up for new every two and I really love LG phones. I'm pretty hard on cellphones - drop 'em, sweat on 'em, get paint on 'em (ok, I'm exaggerrating a little, but I am not a suit and tie businessman working in an air conditioned office all day) anyhow, LG's have always been great for me. My first LG was the 510, this last one was the 4400....both great for me.

Been looking at VZW stores the last few days....I really want a speakerphone...and I am intrigued by the idea of a wireless headset (sometimes get a call while on a ladder, etc)....but I really don't have to have it. I don't need a camera, but what decent phone doesn't have one?

I am considering the the 8100 and the 650.

1. If money is no object.
2. My wife has the 650. (easier sched sharing and phonebook syncing ?)
3. I dont want dropped calls. DUH.
4. I want great pic quality.
5. which has better batterylife?
6. will either of them take a 1 gig and up memory card, not just 512?
7. we are on verizon.
8. I really want to hook up to the internet with either one through my router, is that impossible?
9. which has better movie taking anviewing abiliities? Like I want to play a ripped dvd on it.
10. sound quality (phone AND playback of mp3's?)

Which is a better phone e815 or vx8100? Price? Which would you buy?

This is going to sound wierd but I had my info center up and it showed the LG3300 comming soon which was new today. Later in the day it showed the E815 as comming soon (which is supposed to be released Monday with the 8100. When I refreshed my screen to look for the 8100 the E815 was gone. Maybe they are going to re-post them together. Ill keep checking im at work at radioshack right now in Redwood City, California.

there is a new thread under Moto e815 being released on 7.5. i wonder if they're going to coincide the 8100 on the same day.

According to all of the reliable VZW insiders at Hofo, June 27th is the date, confirmed from a VZW weekly update document, not to mention the rebates have been floating around for a short while as well.

Well yet more dissapointing news i'm afraid. I was in Radio Shack and the 98 year old lady helping me looked at me like i was crazy when i asked about the 8100 and kindly pointed out the very newest LG they had (the 7000) I guess this means the phone is never coming out. 😡 ☹️

just looked on the Verizon web site the 710's are all out of stock, and the lg 8000 dropped in price from 179.00 to 150.00 cant wait i need a new phone like two weeks ago

the 4650 just got released this morning on the website. 8100 should be coming soon!

I just got off the phone with my local VZW rep and she said they will have the phone next week as has been reported on other threads.

HOWEVER........she said I could order the 8100 now thru what she called "fullfillment" and I could have it in 2 days. Hmmmmmmmmm..........

Anyone confirm this as thruth? If it is, I am on my way.................lol

the verizon tech i talked to on Saturday said that Thursday the LG rep was with them and they discussed these dates.

Just wante to let everyone know that in our system it's showing that we will start selling the moto e815 on july 10. So hopefully the 8100 will be out before then as well. So that's positive information. Also as well if want to verify this information feel free to visit any best buy and speak to a wireless sales rep and ask them to look up the releasse date for the e815. Release date information is public information so shoudln't be a hassle. Also as well it showed up in our system for 199.99. Not sure how accurate that is since it can be changed and updated anytime. So i assume the 8100 is goin to be the same price.
