How do I transfer my phonebook to my computer?

I used to be with Cingular and I could transfer my phone numbers to and from Outlook via bluetooth. Unfortunately, Cingular's reception sucked, so I switched to verizon. However, they cripple their bluetooth.....

Is there any way to transfer the contacts in my phone book to my computer and then transfer them back to the phone? It would be very helpful if someday I switch phones or loose my current phone.

I am familiar with bitpim and have transfered pictures via that program.

Thanks

i dont know if you could do it via bt or not. personally i bought the data cable off of ebay for like 8 bucks. use bitpim (free) and you can get your texts, pictures, vids, memo's etc. in addition you can also get your phone book on your computer. make ringtones, send them to your phone. really theres nothing this program cant do. make sure if you order it off ebay. that the one you order comes with the driver disk.

Use Backup Asst in the GetItNow apps (Get Going section). Much easier than bitpim, automatically backs up every night, easy to use website, and it's only $1.99. You can enter numbers on the website and have them upload to your phone, no cables needed.

Yes, but I've found that for the price of a cheeseburger, it's worth the ease of use--nothing beats a device that back's itself up.

eeeh, for 4 months worth of your cost on that program, i'll stick to my data cable and bitpim. it really doesnt bother me to hook my phone upto the computer and hit a series of 3 or 4 buttons to back it up every once in a while.
