Does anyone know where i can find the functionality of this phone? Particularly i am looking for if you can answer the phone w/ the clamshell closed since it has the function keys on the front. ...
The buttons on the front look like they're for mp3 playback, not for any phone functionality. But they could be dual purpose. Looking at the pic, I think the 2 small holes below the keypad are for the mic, in which case you'd have to open it in order to talk into the mic, so if I had guess, I'd say no, you cannot answer w the phone closed. But we won't really know until someone who actually has one can comment.

Correction: looks like the single hole directly below the '0' key is the mic. The 2 'holes' to either side are probably the little rubber bumpers to protect the screen when you close the phone. I'm thinking that since the mic is pretty much only accessible after you open it, you would have to open it to answer. True, the twin side speakers should allow you to hear, but you cannot really talk back. Like I said, this is all pure conjecture though... 🙂
Maybe you meant to say something else, because what you wrote isn't true. In fact, I'm not aware of any CDMA phone LG makes that doesn't worked, clamshell closed, with a standard 2.5mm hands-free. I've used from the VX-10 forward.

not true, on my 4500 the mic is in the speaker protion of the speaker phone when the Speaker phone is turned on.
Interesting. I didn't know they put 2 mics on phones. Ok, I stand corrected. The main mic isn't an indication of whether closed would work.
