A couple of questions

I am considering purchasing this phone however I have been unable to get two questions answered when I try and reach out to the folks with Verizon. So...for those of you who do have this phone:

1) Does this phone give you the option to control the Ringer volume and the Notification volume independent of each other...or does Android have the two locked into one on this phone as well? My current HTC out of the box came with the ability to control the two as one but included a check box that when deselected, separated the two so you could control them independent of each other which was very useful during times when I needed the ringer volume off but still needed to listen for notifications. After an update that all changed and now both R...

Yay! Gripe!

Happy to have received 8 on my V30. It feels much faster and the battery life is much much better too.

My big gripe is that when this phone receives an update you don't get told what the update is or who its from, just that there is an update and to either download it or not. No way to even get redirected to a website that tells you what the update is... do not like that at all.

Whatever.

I would settle for any security update later than Oct 2017

LG

The sister to Samsung is definitely hurting.
While everybody is obsessed with the Samsung Galaxy series, the LG G series is nothing to be ignored.
But people hear Samsung for some reason and they think #1.

Ear piece volume....disappointment

I have been waiting for this review. The things I loved about the LG line are slipping away... the ear piece and speaker volume were absolutely awesome on the G5 then went right into the crapper with the G6 and now with the V30 it sounds like it's still dismal.

Signal

Thank you for actually providing some feedback on the signal strength. It sounds like it was good for you in your use case. Can you make any comparison to another phone? Thank you.

If anyone else has any real world feedback on the signal strength/reception quality on the V30 I would appreciate it. My wife and I are both looking to get new phones soon and the AT&T BOGO is tempting while we can get the VR headsets too. I haven't had a LG phone before so just curious about the antennas. We have Samsung phones now and they do not get as good of a signal as the Moto phones we've had in the past and that really annoys my wife (her work is worse for signal than mine).

Any help anyone can provide on experience with the antennas in the V30 w...

It's like

Selling this version of the V30 on Sprint is like putting a Kia Engine in a Ferrari, may look good, may work, but nothing special.

"thin body of curved glass"

Welcome to the age of Giraffe neck phones with next to bezel-less displays.

Resembles the S8???

I'm curious, but wasn't the G6 revealed before the S8? Then it's mentioned the V30 looks like an evolution of the G6 except with the curved glass on the sides. Doesn't it then seem that the S8 amd S8+ actually resemble the G6? You make it sound as if LG ripped off Samsung's design?
