I talked last night to an Alltel rep about the v710. I've found this store's employees in the past to be on the level and very knowledgable. The rep indicated that Alltel is getting a nokia flip bluetooth phone around end of may/beginning of june. The rep mentioned some details (that I won't go into here) that lead me to believe that they know what they are talking about.
Also, expect it to be less expensive than the v710. My guess is that nokia will be specifically undercutting the v710 on price.

I just talked to an Alltel rep and he said that I could NOT get this phone flashed over onto Alltel because it's not on their approved list...anyone know anything more about this phone/alltel? I want it âšī¸

Alltel usually will only flash phones that they currently offer. So you will have to wait until June to get the phone when it comes out to Alltel. đ

Alltel is taking over Cellular One, who now has the Nokia 6625, in June sometime. Maybe that is what your rep is talking about? I ordered my 6255 from Cellular One on Thursday, the first day they were available from this carrier. Should be here tomorrow! đ

Alltel will be getting this phone before the merger is complete with Western Wireless.
It will be interesting what Alltel will do with the name Cellular One. Because people think Cellular One is a wireless provider (and it is not) it confuses people when they try to leave one company that calls themselves Cellular to another provider that calls themselves Cellular One.
