Ringtones, wallpaper

Does anyone know where you can download ringtones, wallpaper and games for this phone? Also, what do think of the call clarity and the speakerphone clarity? Thanks.

WAP config?

Anyone have a pointer to a configuration for free WAP for this phone? The closest thing I can find (at HoFo) is for the VX6000 and doesn't work with the VX6100.

Ringer Volume Issue?

Has anyone else noticed that the ringer volume is MUCH lower when the flip is open than when it is closed? Is is almost too low to hear at all. And no, it is not related to which direction the speaker is facing.

This is my first LG phone. Are they all this way? If so, is there a reason for it? My Motorola V60 did not have this problem. I like to leave the flip open sometimes when I am in the car. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks..

Charger question

I've heard people say that this doesn't have a "cradle charger". What kind does it use, then?

No internet?

Looking at the official page for the phone on the verizon site, I don't see any mention of "internet capable" or "national access". Does anyone have one and know whether it can access the internet or not?

vx-6100 holster / leather case

The holster seems to sometimes not fully snap into place. I have to manually adjust it until I hear a second snap.

Swivel is nice, but there does seem to be a problem with the holster. Is it just mine or are they all like this?

Considering the leather case, but not sure if I should go with LG or the one Verizon sells.

Data capabilities?

Can this phone be used to connect a laptop to the Internet? It seems it should, but the Verizon site does not list this phone with "InternetReady" or "NationalAccess" service. Can one purchase the USB cable and connect this phone to a laptop and get Internet access on the laptop?

~~ vx6100 Field Test Mode and Programming Mode ~~

Press [MENU] + [0]

Then Security Code: [0][0][0][0][0][0]

You are now in the "Field Test/Service Menu" where you can force the Preferred Mode... Just select "Force Mode" press [OK] select a Mode and press [OK]

You should try setting "Cell Only" ... This will force the phone away from the 1900MHz (PCS) band and may take you to the extended network in your area (not roaming), and may give you a much better signal...

You can leave this settings area at any time with the [END] key...

This works on all currently available LG Phones

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CAUTION... Playing with settings in this area could render your phone totally inoperable... ALWAYS write down what the original setting was before changing it...
charging port cover
My 6100 came with a little gray rubber cover in the charging port, presumably to protect the port from dust, etc. My question is whether this should be inserted whenever the charger is not in use. I have never worried about the port before on other phones and have never had any problems, so I was kind of wondering why they include the cover-are you supposed to keep the port covered???
Can you overcharge this phone?
I know some phones allow you to over charge them which crystalizes the battery. Does this phone do the same or does it stop charging once it's finished.
6100 vs. 7000
I'm debating the two phones. I need a new one and like both of these. I've never had speakerphone capabilities and it looks like a nice feature, but don't know if I'd actually use it, since I've survived without it for so long.
I don't really care about the camera. My main concern is that given that I'm a bigger guy and have bigger hands, I'd like the phone to feel comfortable when I used it, and I'd like to easily be able to push the buttons.
Given that, has anybody had the opportunity to use both phones that could provide a comparison and a recommendation?
Thanks!
6100 tri-mode feature
I was hoping someone could tell me if they have a 6100 and if they get better service because it is a Tri-mode phone. I live in a fringe area near Spokane, Washington and Verizon says it does not have a tower where I live, but they do have service on other towers. With the phone I have now it is hit and miss signals. Does anyone think I will get better service with a Tri-mode. In the area I live everyone has AT&T or Cingular because they say Verizon doesn't work very well down there. Anyway I was just hoping a Tri-mode phone would work better, any suggestions?
some quick questions about the LG 6100
Hello,
I've been using a Samsung e105 (t-mobile), and have some reception problem (could be just where I live). I'm thinking about the LG VX6100, but have a couple of questions. Hope someone could give me the answer:
1) I've been told the 6100 is a tri-mode phone. Does this mean that the reception is going to be much, much better? My Samsung e105 barely works inside my house, and it often doesn't work in my room (downstairs)!
2) I'm told that the LG 6100 can accommodate a USB cable. Does this mean that I can just use a regular USB cable to hook the phone up to my desktop or laptop, and transfer pictures (which I take) and music files (which I create) to use as wall papers and ringers for the phone?
Thanks a bunch.
