Voice Dailing Problem

Just got my VX 6100 on Saturday. Having a problem with voice dailing. I say "contacts", the person's name, then "yes". The contact name displays on the screen correctly up and the number is dialed -- ONLY THE LAST DIGIT IS CHOPPED OFF THE NUMBER! (this is on the display and what is actually dialed). So, I get a message that verizon does not recognize the number.

When i go into contacts via the menu and call the person the number is dialed correctly. When I use speed dial, it dials correctly. This only seems to happen with voice dialing.

Does anyone else have this problem?

BitPim anyone?

It sounds like people are saying this phone uses the same data cable as the 7000. Has anyone tried it with BitPim?

Antenna

Is it possible to replace the stub antenna with a regular extendable one? If so, will it improve reception?

Speakerphone activation?

My cell needs include:

- Speakerphone (used when I drive)
- must be easy to access

- Camera

- AMPS/CDMA

My Motorola 7868 is a dream with the add-on speakerphone, but having a camera would be a nice addition. I also qualify for NE2. All the research I've done leads to the 6100 (which would be free for me under NE2), but, even downloading the manual, I cannot figure out how to easily activate the speakerphone on-demand.

Either it was omitted, or I am missing it.

Please help.

Thanks.

Chargers and holsters, what from the 6000 fits the 6100?

Thanks to all on this forum, I've been lurking and learning for some time, finally got my 2 LG 6100's, now if I could only find someone at Verizon with a brain to help figure out why the activation voice mail thing keeps kicking me out and sending me to a $6 an hour person who has no idea why they are speaking to me...

Anticipating that I WILL be able to activate the 2 phones I bought online via Verizon, I've noticed that not many accessery sites list literally the 6100, I'm wondering if the charging adapters and holsters for the 6000 fit the 6100? Are the physical dimensions and connections identical?

I need to get a car-cigarette adapter charger for my new 6100's (with a port for external antenna) and am interested in holster option...

"Location" Setting for GPS

I can either have the location "on" or set to "E911 Only". Now I know what E911 is, but by having it on "Location On" what will this do for me if anything????

Thank you for your help...too bad the manual does not explain what this is...lol Guess they assume everyone knows.

Question for 'TMBS' on Verizon Reception in the Milw. Area

Hi. I'm trying to get and keep a 6100. My issue is with signal strength. Seems as though you have extensive experience with various models (at least the 6100 and 9900).

I'm having reception issues in my office building (very near I-94 in Pewaukee) and while inside my home (city of Waukesha).

I can force mode to 'Cell Only' and I get decent reception-nothing great but at least the phone is usable.

I'm wondering what your experience is. Which phone(s) do you use and do you leave them on 'auto' or do you force them to Cell only also? Are there any (except the 3200, gotta have an external display) that can be comfortably left in auto mode full time?

Many thanks in advance!

Mike

6100 cuts itself off after charging

My vx-6100 cuts itself off when unplugged after charging. One service tech told me it was normal and another told me to take it back to the store. Has anyone else observed this?

Voice Commands

Does anyone else have trouble hearing the "male" voice that says the names after you have said them? The woman is loud but the "confirmation" voice is so quiet and quick that I can barely hear it. Can anybody tell me if adjusting the volume is suppose to help that? If I have my phone on the visor while in Driving mode and try to make a call I might as well forget it. I didn't *think* I was hard of hearing. Any tips? Advice? I know somebody that has a 4500 and the male voice is much louder on it.

Just curious--thanks

By the way--my phone does the volume bug thing too ☚ī¸

...My 6100 goes back to Verizon...

My 6100 made a return trip to Verizon today... and I am back to my Audiovox CDM9900... for now...

Too many little "hinky" problems with the 6100 for me...

Basically, the 6100 is a very nice phone, but several current firmware issues make me want to wait for a firmware revision...

Ideas for car holders for 6100?

I have a fairly narrow vehicle (Subaru Outback 2005), with few places to place the 6100. Does someone have clever ideas for car holders for this phone? (The auto charger can be hooked up inside the center console and channeled out to the shift lever area. There out to be someway for an easy in/out holder.)
Thanks!

volume bug

this is just a stab in the dark but perhaps the reason that the call is low for the first 3 seconds is that the phone is trying to adjust the persons voice to the selected level of the phone, maybe it is taking their volume and evening it out the level that we selected, either adding volume to it or subtracting from in, just a thought

also themaxdaddy you said to email your phone using vzwpix that it costs 25 cents plus airtime, how much is airtime

MP3 Ringtones... Yes they can be used...

I have had succeeded in getting an MP3 ringtone to work on my 6100...

I had to reduce its size to 60KB, by converting the 30 second clip to Mono/16/16, and changing the extension to ".mid"... I don't know what the cutoff point is but a 150KB file will NOT work... I will narrow this down later...

But for now anyone that would like a very cute Ringtone... (the HamsterDance) Email me privately with your cell # to:

Voice Prompt

When I hit the Voice Command button on the left side of the phone, I can hear a voice that says: "Please say a command" and I can hardly hear it. Is this normal? Do I have to hold the phone up to my ear to hear it? It's really low there also?
Also, in the VX6100 manual, there is no listing for SPEAKER PHONE. I can't find out how to turn it on. Thanks for a reply.
