6820 and EDGE

I just bought a Eurasian version of the 6820 from a friend. I would like to use it on Cingular's EDGE network, however it is a 900/1800/1900 phone...I've seen on various boards that Cingular has EDGE only on their 850 network...is this true???

Need help deciding!! Please help!!

I am so in need of help whether I should get the 6820, or 6800 or wait for 6810. The only thing i don't like about the 6820 is the camera. I think it's useless, but i read here somewhere that you can upgrade the pic quality, is that correct? and how??

I'd rather not have the camera and get the 6810, but will it ever get here? and the 6800 doesn't have bluetooth and lacking some new technologies. I need a phone that has keyboard in it and I love Nokia phones. The only option they have is the 6800 line. Please shine some insight on me. I really can use some. Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!

Call Volume

Hi everyone,
I have tried for a long time now, to no avail, to raise the volume of the call (the other person's voice) during calls. I find it hard to hear the other person, even with the loudspeaker on, especially in public places. Now I really don't think my hearing's bad, so I'm assuming there's got to be a way to make the other person's voice louder. I've gone through all the 'settings' in the phone and gone through the owners manual, but have seen nothing about doing this. Please tell me it's possible.
Thanks,
-Chris

??????'s about 6820

Does anyone know if you can transfer the video(and or pictures) you record on the 6820 to your PC? I like the ability that the phone has to record video but it almost seems worthless because you can only view it on a 1" screen.

Also if you own this phone will you please tell me about the pros and cons.

Thanks for your help.

Post Script: Does anyone else think that AT&T's text message plans suck?

I can be e-mailed at tjiddyjudd@juno.com or tjjudd@utah.gov

Nokia 6820 Personal Shortcut

Just got this phone and am loving it. I do have one question however. Is there a way to add more options for the personal shortcut? I want it to take me to the e-mail application. It's a pain to have to hit menu --> messaging --> e-mail --> to get there. Any thoughts on how to make the process quicker?

Thanks in advance!

The Nokia 6820

After having the phone for about a week, here's my review..

The Nokia 6820, sucessor to the 6800 comes with a (not so good, but still good for those "on the fly" shots) camera and bluetooth and support for EDGE networks. Like other series 40 phones, this comes with the normal suite of Applications that nokia provides. one of the things that is the best feature of the phone (like the 6800) is the flip out keyboard, for those who like to text, this phone is a godsend, but some will still prefer T9. The screen also rotates when the keyboard is activates and vice versa. The overall size of the phone is smaller then the 6800 but it feels very nice in the palm of your hand. The keys (when in phone mode) is recessed into the phone which makes i...

TMobile getting 6820

I was having connection problems today and spoke with one of the TMobile operators. She informed me that they will be soon offering the 6820.

No idea on the timeframe, but just giving you all the heads up. 🙂

Nokia 6820 problem

I have bought a NOKIA 6820 in Iran but it has a problem. I receive an error message as "Error in network connection" then I can't dial a number or receive any call. I can only send SMS. I'm wondering if the problem is with our network or it's with the phone and is it fixable?

Help: Twin Sim

I need a twin sim capability for my 6820, but all I can come up with on a web search is one of those where you have to cut down your exisiting 2 sim cards.

I don't feel comfortable with this 😳 - especially as one of my sim cards belongs to my employer!

Does anyone know of a company that sells another option for twin sims that is compatible with the 6820?

😁 Thanks in advance guys!

Does this phone support Perl?

I saw that Nokia was going to start supporting Perl on their handsets in addition to Java. Is this one of those phones? I'd much prefer to develop in Perl than J2ME/MIDP, but I guess it won't kill me if I can't.

Thanks

Easy BT connection?

I'm trying to find an easy way to make my bluetooth connection. I want to be able to just get in range of my comouter and have them see each other and let Nokia PC Sync start syncing. Instead I have to go to My Bluetooth Places, right click the icon for my phone and click connect, then open Nokia Connection Manager, click BT, hit the drop down list and choose Com4 and connect.

Is there a simple way to automate this???

Better email client?

One complaint about the built in email clinet is having to press five buttons to see the "next page" of a long email. Is there another way to do this? Or, is there another email client I can download to use for pop3?

Help w/ error message: "Item rejected - No space - IM client"

Greetings, all.

I'm hoping one of you might be able to help me. I have a 6820 that keeps displaying a message at random (i.e., not prompted by anything I'm doing with the phone). This suggests to me that it likely has something to do with a pending incoming message... but I really don't know.

In any case, the message that keeps popping up is as follows.

- - - - - - - -
Item Rejected
No Space
IM Client
- - - - - - - -

Have any of you encountered this before? More importantly, does anyone know how to make the annoying message go away?!?! I have tried changing various settings to no avail. I also looked through the entire manual, and it's no help at all.

Thanks in advance for your help!
