Palm Treo 600 (CDMA)

Is Sprint or Verizon going to have this amazing smartphone (Treo 610) and possibly when?
Also if sprint releases the Treo 610 can I buy one from the manufactures website and use Verizon’s Wireless network?

I just called VZW Business office and asked about the treo 600. I was told that it will be available today for Business accounts, but orders must flow through a direct business rep.

When they will release for consumers is unknown but rumor has it, Next monday, but can only be purchased online.

Does anyone know if I can get this phone for cheaper than $549 if I already have a plan with Verizon?

Today, I was able to purchase a VZW Treo 600 VZW. I called the regular verizon sales line at 1-800-2-JOIN-IN. THIS WAS NOT PURCHASED THROUGH A BUSINESS REP.

Of course they are already backordered and I was told I wouldn't get delivery until sometime next week.

Price was $449.99. I got $100.00 credit towards phone upgrade. The dat plan is $40.00 for all you can eat.

For any of you wanting bluetooth or wi-fi on the phone, here is a small ray of hope that it could happen.

I don't know the technical term for it, but can anyone tell me whether this phone can be set up to allow two separate numbers ringing into the same phone? 😕

The Treo 600 will not be able to use VZW's cheap (albeit slower) "Quick 2 Net" service. It will only work with the full data plan, which runs $40-50 / month (in addition to your voice minutes plan). So, that's another $600 a year for this phone, and too rich for my blood unfortunately.

so I am wondering if anyone has the specs on this phone yet? Mainly I would like to know what the screen resolution is. I was told that it was going to be like 320x240 for the verizon model. any info would be great.

FYI, just called business support at VZW and ordered my Treo 600! Should be here tomorrow! $449 on upgrade. Sure hope it lives up to the hype!

Just saw the demo unit this AM. The V store gave me sales lit. and their internal sales brochure. No hard date but should be in 2 weeks. They were not sure if the model is w/BlueTooth and the lit. did not say either. Does anyone know?

I have been in contact with several very high level Executives at VZW. All refuse to acknowledge a real launch date. I know from certain things they have said that the release is imminent, but have no date.

The good news is this. In the new Fortune magazine and the August Money magazine, PalmOne has full page ads for the Treo 600. The key element here is that the Verizon Wireless logo joins those of the other current carriers supporting the phone. This is a clear indication that we are very close to the actual launch. VZW had to approve use of the logo, and they wouldn't allow the market to get hyped without releasing the product.

This is the first time I've ever posted any date speculation on this site, but I'm certain this is ironclad info. The Verizon business reps (and maybe others) just had a meeting this morning about (guess what)...the Treo 600. My biz rep told me that it will be out Monday, July 19.

Also, there will be discounts for those who choose the unlimited data plan (money off the phone and off the data plan), in addition to any corporate discounts you receive.

I wrote the expected price on a pad and left it at work. However, I believe with the discount you would get it for mid 300s.

My wife's LG 4500 has a speakerphone so clear and loud, you can just throw it in the cupholder in the car and it's like a wireless handsfree kit! Is the Treo 600 that good?

I hope it's true, I've just returned a week-old CDM-8900 (which has a terrible speakerphone BTW) in anticipation of this model.

Confirmed and set in stone, the Treo will be available July 12. Buisness 2 Buisness customers can get the phone this coming Monday 6/28/04.
