Here's my story about the above subject. I purchased the DROID X (X) 5 1/2 months ago and at first loved it, although a little confusing being new type of phone to me. 3 monhs and 3 weeks later, the phone just died. Went to VZW store they called tech people and were confused. Sent me my second X, 1st certified used x. That x certified lasted one week. 2nd X certified lasted one day. All the same problem. Battery super hot then dead. Had to persuade VZW store manager, very nice person, to get a new X or a another new type of phone. She stated that VZW does not stock new phones, just certified used. - What is "Sleep Mode", and when should it be used? (as opposed to completely turning off)
- Is there a way to add a pause, followed by your 4-digit pin, to your voicemail preset? This was possible in all my previous non-Android phones, and I find it hard to believe this would not be an option in Android.
- I'm happy with Android 2.3, and wondering if Launcher Pro really improves the experience a lot. I figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it (but am always open to advice/suggestions)...
- I upgraded from the LG Ally, and one of the things I liked about that phone was it came with a full-screen calendar widget. Does the Droid X have this, and if not, can I download one from the market? What calendar is the best?
OKay, I just got this phone and out of the box it says android version 2.2.2, build number4.4.1_274_dtn-14.8
It looks just like 2.3 on a droid x, but Im concerned that mine may have a glitch in it. So far I have to pull the charger out to get the phone to update the percentage that it is at and it has power cycled once already. What do yours say under phone info? I checked for updates and none are available.
Is this a common problem or do I just have a bunk phone?
