Driving Mode Help!

Ok - can someone please help me figure out how I am doing this and how I can make it stop?

I keep my phone in a little built-in pocket in my purse. The only other thing in the pocket is a tube of chapstick. About three times a week or so - the phone's been put into driving mode! How does that happen? I did not think the buttons on the side could put it in driving mode. The flip is closed the whole time. The only thing I can think of is that the chapstick presses up against the buttons and somehow that puts it into driving mode. I have moved the chapstick and I'll see if that helps but I still am interested in knowing how it happens!

Thanks

Text Message Questions

I'm thinking about either the 4500 or the 8000.

Can anyone tell me:

Is the font size for received text messages either
ordinarily fairly large, or can it be adjusted to a
good size?

Can the phone be set up not to ring but to only
vibrate when a text message is received

Thanks

Speaker Problem

Hi.

It sounds like the speaker is going on my 4500. This makes me sad, because I have given this phone high praise and love it. I have read in some of the reviews that others have had this problem as well. I have had the phone for just over a month. Will bring it to Verizon tomorrow. ☚ī¸

Motorola V265 or LG 4500

Hi,

I am thinking to get new instrument and I am not able to decide which instrument to go with - LG 4500 or Motorola V265. I understand that one was camera in it and other does not, which is not really a important criteria for me. I am considering following factors:
-Instrument should not heat up when you are in converstation for about half to one hour.
- Battery life
- Ease of use
- Able to easily download stuff on phone - ringtones or other easily (but not that important).

Please can you share your experience about it.

Thanks in advance for your time and input.

4500 for sale

I was at the Verizon store today and they gave me a new LG4500 as a replacement. I had only gone in to ask them about something I had observed on my original LG4500 that I have had for a year. They just offered to replace my phone. It blew my mind because I wasn't griping or anything. I've gotta give them some praise for that. Anyway, I am considering selling the new LG4500 since I am now ready to move onto my next toy.

I have been very pleased with the phone. The speakerphone and voice dial are very nice when driving. The voice dial is much better since you can choose whether to dial a home, office, mobile number, etc. from each contact.

I also have the extended battery which has performed well.

Soft vibrate?

I just got the VX4500 and really love it except that I find it has a very soft vibrate compared to my old Nokia. Because I live in a very loud New York City, I find I'm often missing calls because I can't hear or feel the phone.

My questions is: Does anyone know if the extended battery vibrates harder than the standard battery that the phone came with?

Thanks,
Doug

4500 vs. 6100 vs. 7000

Can someone compare the basic calling features of each? (I know about camera, video, etc.). I'm more concerned with ease of use, voice activated dialing, layout of buttons, comfort, reception, etc.

Driving Mode

I read on this forum that the phone in driving mode asks if you would like to accept the call. My phone only keeps repeating who is calling. Can someone tell me what to do?

Firmware V4...

I just had firmware version 4 (T45VZV04) loaded today. The Voice Dialing menu has some new options and features, and it now speaks by default through the earpiece instead of the speaker phone...

However, you can turn the speaker phone on without having to dial or choose anything else, just by hitting up on the 4 way button - I did not notice that you could do this in the past...

Reception is the same as far as I can tell. I live in a fringe area, but have bo trouble making calls all digital...

All in all (after 8 months) the 4500 is still a great phone, and IMHO it blows away the newer Moto flips VZW currently has out...

Desktop Charger

I have had my 4500 only for about a week now so I may be too new at this but is it normal that the phone is extremely difficult to remove from the desktop charger? It makes a horrible plastic cracking sound when I go to pull it out of the charger. Anyone have any ideas, or am I removing it from the charger wrong? I basically lift straight up to remove the phone. I tried sliding it out; I also tried pushing down and then lifting but that does not work either.

And of course the manual is no help!
Thanks!

Discovered way to not hear song on powering on and off

Found start up tune to be annoying. stopped in 2 Verizon stores to find a solution. they both said very common question - can't be turned off.
Solution - activate "vibrator mode" before powering off tel, and deactivate after powering on tel, and presto - no more song.

Hope this makes life less annoying 😁

Software update

My phone was on the fritz, calls taking over a minute to connect and vry low reception. The Software update fixed everything. If you have software version T45VZV01 you need an update.

Need Help Finding a Simple Ringtone

Hi All - I just got this phone last night from my Verizon store. So far I really like it except for one thing - there are no simple, business-like ringtones to select! I use this phone at work and really don't want my phone "jamming to the beat" when someone calls my office.
I guess I"ll pay for one on the Get It Now thing, but can anyone give me a suggestion of which site to go to to get a nice ring tone?
Thanks!
