LG VX-6000

I am selling my Verizon VX-6000 to a stranger and I wonder if it is possible to erase all my personal data... beyond the master reset and erase contacts, etc.. functions that are part of the user menu system.

I closed the vzw account so I won't use the number again. Just wondering about cleaning it up further?

Hm, well you probably have all heard the rumor that you cant change the default timer for the LCD light on your phone (which is 7 seconds) which is way to short. Well if you just do a little digging you can actually change how long you want the light to stay on ( 7s default, 15s, 30s, always up, on flip open)

1. Flip open your phone
2. click the button for menu
3. go to #9 - settings
4. Go to #2 - display
5. G oto #2 - backlight
6. Go to #1 - Main LCD
7. Go to #1 - Timer
8. Set the time you want

is the outer LCD supposed to scroll when in standby mode? i just got a vx6000, and after a few seconds, the time, etc scrolls along until the timer runs out and it goes dark. is this right?

My phone has inadvertently entered 'car kit' mode. I have been driving myself crazy trying to unstick it. Please help! I cannot find the answer anywhere, and due to the mountain of problems I have already experienced with my carrier, I do not wish to return to the store anytime soon.

I am thinking about getting a data cable from ebay. I only get a driver CD, not a software CD. I've checked out the site for BitPim and there is a warning about the software might damage the phone? Has anyone had this trouble? Is BitPim good to use for transfers? Are there any other free programs out there to use for transfers?
