Sprint has a huge inventory of phones that they cannot sell and by stalling with the release of the Curve and others they have been hoping to deplete inventory.

Sprint is also facing the loss of FCC airwaves in July 2008 which could destroy Sprint's ability to provide acceptable coverage.

Sprint also has an issue with it's identity and cannot decide if it should use the name Nextel or stick with Sprint.

Example: last year Nextel sponsored NASCAR by calling the series the Nextel Cup Series. This year they are calling it the Sprint Cup Series.

Customer service is located in Asia and even though the phone agents speak OK English the conversations do not trnslate well which causes issues and friction.

Order online or call customer service. I've been using mine since Friday morning, and I've never had a better all-around phone. And have more memory than all other previous Curves/Blackberries, plus being 3G,it is great!

today while looking around everywhere poosible, (work for sprint) i found a document for the Curve (its fact sheet) this was not here a few days ago, and it has an effective date of the 7th, along with price & everything....

Verizon B2B reps have been able to sell the Curve since Friday. If you are receiving a corporate discount, you can get the Curve early too. Contact your company's B2B sales rep and they will order you one. If you are a regular customer with no discounts, you'll have to wait until it comes out on the 12th, or try to get someone in customer service to sell it to you.

I just got off the phone with TeleSales and she said in their system it is set to launch May 7th and I quote, "I assure you it will be May 7th."

Looks like we'll have to wait for May 4th or May 7th ....

I just noticed that you can purchase the curve at bestbuy.com but for my area it says back ordered. I don't know if that is because of the same delay for the stores or if people are just buying them up.

Sprint should put the Curve out despite the software issues, because people are blaiming Sprint for making sure this phone is up to their compliance. If you want to point fingers point them at Blackberry they're the ones that made the phone. But yeah, they should release the phone now because obviously some people just don't care about the defects, and that way all the Curve enthusiasts would find something else to be sour about, a phone that doesn't work properly. Yeah that's perfect then it'll be another thread with some guy ranting about how Sprint sucks because the Curve doesn't work, and how it has 5 million issues.

Just placed the order this morning over the phone for curve on VZ, just got the email that i was shipped. Yesssssssss 🤣 😁 🙂

I got mine yesterday its amazing. I had the pearl it seems the same to me. they keys are a little small compared to the old 7250 but im not giving it up till a better blackberry comes out on alltel.

Listen, this is pathetic. I have gotten several different answers from Sprint when the Curve 8330 will be available. I've heard everything from today to August! Why are they always last? I have seven phones on my account and I am actually thinking about paying the early termination fee on three and just bugging out for a company that can keep up with the competition. By the time Sprint releases the Curve, the Blackberry 9000 series will be getting ready to appear at the T Mobile and AT&T Carriers. I guess we can buy Windows 98 at Sprint too. :-(
