Go with Maxx now or wait for RAZR2

OK..new dilemma. I'm up for my NE2 promo and have been eying the Maxx to replace my V710. Now that the RAZR2 has been announced, do you think its worth waiting for the RAZR2 release, or just go with the Maxx for now as a solid replacement?

EV-DO data only???

Looking at getting a "maxx". Verizon's online features list says "EV-DO only". I live in a fringe area where I bouce from EV-DO to 1x all the time. Can anyone verify that the phone does, or does not, work with 1x data. THANKS!

Will A 4GB Micro SD Card Work?

We know the phone takes a 2 GB Micro SD card. But in my local Verizon store, I was told that it might actually take up to a 4GB card.

Is this is true?

Since you have to take the battery out to get to the card--what a pain that is--it would be good if it takes a larger SD card.

VWZ Bull ****!

Ok, so i went to get this phone today... AND, VZW no longer has the $5.00 / month txt plan...

i was told on the phone that i would need to move to the $10 plan (or drop it) to get this phone.

that's bull. i dont want to change anything, just my phone!

with GSM; I can just pull the SIM any time i want to!

that's the last straw! I'm getting an iPhone on 07/28/2007 (when my VZW contract is up)...

nuts to there locked down over priced crap...

also; check out the V9m or v9c phones... they spank this one...

MAXX vs RAZR2

I am giving my K1m to my dad, and am in need of a new phone. I was set on getting this phone, but so many people are talking about the new RAZR2 or vpm. I want to purchase the best phone. I don't care which has a better mp3 player as I don't use it, and the only pictures I take on my phone are for fun, not for printing. What makes the v9 so much better? I have Verizon if that matters. Thanks for any input.

MP3 Player issues with RAZR MAXX

I have several issues related to using the phone as an MP3 player, either in bluetooth stereo mode or with stereo earphones, as follows:

A. phone locks up after either using text-messaging or telephone features when in MP3 mode, requiring removal of battery - both in bluetooth mode, and also wen using earphones;
B. earpiece loses right-side sound after stopping MP3 player to send a text message, then restarting MP3 player;
C. in bluetooth mode, cannot return to MP3 player after placing a call using bluetooth mode. works okay when receiving a call (and bluetooth returns to MP3 after call), but not when placing a call;
D. extremely low volume thru earphones when in MP3 mode, so bad that you actually cannot hear low-volume songs at all
E...

It works for me !!

I just got my new Max Razr and am very pleased . Everything works as promised . I would like to be able to set the Vibrate and then ring ,but have not found a way to do it. That is not a big deal.
Battery life is not so great , but last for a day plus.
All and all this is a terrific phone.

What comes out of the box when you open it for the first time?

I ,ve seen at Motorola website that this phone comes with the following items:
Motorola MAXX Ve Phone
Lithium Ion Battery
Battery Door
Travel Charger
Right Angle Connector
Screen Cleaner
User Manual

Is this true? Just to confirm!

MAXX decision

Okay, so after waiting all these months for this phone to come out, I went out once again yesterday to see how I felt about it. I cannot get past how masculine and rugged this phone is to me. I have decided against it simply because of its looks and I think that the KRzr is the phone for me. There really isn't much that I like at this time but I want to replace my Q.

Wish the Maxx came in a different color or at least I wish that the keypad wasn't black. It's just boring to me. Don't see the big difference between this and a regular krzr aside from the extra $100!

Motorola V9m

In case anyone is interested. If you are on the fence, not sure what to buy take a look at the link. If nothing else, the price of the Maxx Ve should drop if this comes soon.

Why???

Why does Moto continue to make RAZR's?.... seems like the name has been out long enough now that the general public, (not us junkies that hang out on here and other cellular info sites like crackheads), are thoroughly confused by the different "editions" and "upgrades" of this model... Shouldn't Moto have come out with something new surrounding this style, but with some new flare, or curves, or size, or thickness, or something?

RAZR's are way too popular and well known to have this many codes and model numbers associated with this name... It's hard enough for those of us within the industry to keep it straight, so I know it has to be tough for those out there with little to no knowledge of how the industry works and evolves...

Maxx is missing some e815 features

Overall the maxx is a very good phone, but a few small things bug me:

When i plug in the charger, the phone initially says battey charging but doesn't continue to do so. Its nice to see that message to confirm the plug hasn't come out of the wall socket beneath the desk. Plus there is no charge complete message (if the phone is on) - why not ?

The clock on the outside screen is tiny - any way to enlarge this ? (digital, not analog).

I greatly preferred the e815 contact list which showed both name and # in much larger font on the screen than the maxx. Any way to change the contact list display ?

Another minor annoying thing is that if you key in a letter to find someone on your contact list (say "A"), then pause, then key in an...

Downgrade from the V710 on the Display

The 65,536 (16-bit)display is a deal killer.

What a shame to downgrade from a V710 display to have this phone. The usual websites were wrong again on the display being 262k:

I want something as good as my E-815

Well its that time again, time for me to read everyone's reviews, read the forums and make a decision on the new phone for the next 2 years. It'll be hard parting ways with in my opionon with the best cell phone I've owned. Even though the camera wasn't the best, it froze up and had to reset on a daily basis, and looked like a little brick in my pocket. It never would have traded it for a fancy, slow, slim, "cool" phone. The E815 was just always very reliable for what it was- A phone.

Some things I got spoiled with and I need with my new phone....
1) Realiability (good reception)

2) Phone Speed ( I don't want anything as slow as my brothers Razor's, krazors' , Lozer's...

3) I want the E815- T9! texting! I tested the texting on b...
