Bitpim and Verizon
If I use Bitpim to fiddle with my Verizon phone and manage to brick it, will verizon fix it or re-image for me? Or does that somehow void the warranty?

Absolutely voids the warranty. Bitpim is pretty user friendly, though. Just stay out of the file system unless you seriously know what you're doing, and I doubt you'll brick your phone
