Naughty Minister's Husband
Last month a man came in to set up some cell phones, DSL, and satellite TV. He told me they were on a limited income as he was retired and his wife is a minister and doesn't receive much as a salary. We went over what the first bill will be with all the activation charges, etc. and what his monthly bill will be. He was satisfied with the arrangement and we closed the deal.
Yesterday he came in to complain about his bill being way more than I had told him it would be. We sat down together and I began to look over his bill to try and determine what happened.

I had a Baptist Minister come in two days ago to dispute the calls on his bill to a porn hotline overseas.

Not really - he knows that they will see the same thing, and more likely that he will swallow his pride, find a way to pay it without the wife knowing, and never do it again.
Saving his dignity in public in such a tactful way is a great way to develop a customer's trust.

Customer service would have to get involved no matter what. I do not work for the satellite company. I don't have access to their billing system. Nor can I determine that he did or did not watch/purchase the items.
There is a reason companies have a customer service department. If there was a problem related to anything I or my salespeople did when setting it up I am going to fix it.
If he buys porn and then wants to get credited back for those purchases, that is a matter for customer service. Not every situation is best resolved in a sales location.
