Am I missing something?

Guy calls in to my store...

C: I want to add a line to my account

M: ๐Ÿ˜ ok cool

C: But my phone number is with you guys under my company and i just want to add it to my wife's account with you guys.

M: ๐Ÿ˜• that's just a transfer of service, but i'll be happy to provide you with the number

C: So i can't come in and get a new phone?

M: If you're ready to renew your contract, you can upgrade and sign a new 2 yr agreement and get a new phone at the discounted price.

C: UPGRADE??? I don't even have service with you guys!

M: ๐Ÿคจ Is the phone number active?

C: yeah

M: so you have service with us?

C: I don't have a phone, so no, i don't have service.

M: here's the 800 number....

sounds like crackboy there lost his phone and/or just wanted to get a new phone without paying full price for it

yeah his phone number is in service with us, his phone was taken by his employer and he thought just by "adding a line" (which is really just transferring from one acct. to another) to his wife's account, that would get him a discount on a new phone.

I hope he knows that for an assumption of liability like that his company needs to give the ok anyway
