I had a cust try to collect a debt via text and when he had to sue to get the $$ he wanted the txts printed out as proof that they had agreed to a payment plan.
I was like 😳 😳 😳 ...
And when i told him we could not do that he did not believe me.
However i did once convince a teenager that we saw every txt or pic msg that went thru. Straight faced i looked at him and said "How do you think it gets from their phone to yours....we have somebody that is in back routing all the messages."
He nearly freaked before i laughed and said i was kidding.
I was like 😳 😳 😳 ...
And when i told him we could not do that he did not believe me.

i do something similar. when i use my cellebrite to transfer pictures, i'll give them "the look" while the pix are transferring.
they'll start to freak out and ask me if i can see the pics on the screen. i just smirk at them, wait a second. smile and say no

we don't have that machines so when we transfer it is bluetooth...and oh yeah...we see 'em. That is how i sell some memory cards...
ME: We can transfer over those pics from your old phone....

Yes phones are updated constantly. PDAs require drivers available from the manufacturer's website. I used it on a voyager, a razr, and a sprint samsung I forgot the name of. Very popular model a year ago with three buttons on the front.
