i swapped a shift with someone for thanksgiving off and accidentally changed my schedule to 9 days in a row because of extra days for training, starting the day after thanksgiving.

Not to sound all Corporate or anything, but most companies make as much as 25% of their profit in the month between Thanksgiving and Christmas. That means that as a commissioned salesperson, I could make about 25% of my income for the year in that same month. I know that the extra hours are a pain in the a$$, but between the overtime and extra commissions, it is worth it.
