I always respond to that with "Well if the phone hasn't worked since you got it, its your responsibility to bring it back, not ours."

I had one customer who charged her phone in the bathroom(not sure why). I told her the steam from the shower could damage her phone. She said that was insane how could steam damage a phone. I told her to remember back to elementary school science. When water gets hot it turns into steam, when steam comes in contact with an object it condenses back into water. Water on a phone equals bad. She complained to my manager who thought the whole thing was funny so I didn't get in trouble. That day felt good. 😁
