Is there any particular rules in regards to resurecting multi-year-old threads without adding anything of importance to them?

Seen a few 2007 and 2004 threads popping up lately, it can get confusing...

I'll second this. Necroposting in a legitimate forum can be ridiculous (the Lounge is fine), but I will say that if I am around in 6 years I will totally necro-bump this thread for the lulz.

Honesty - a good policy.

But in a troubleshooting of phone forum, it brings very outdated information to the front page, often followed by a series of posters correcting the archaic policies without realizing the thread was started in 2006...

If someone is adding something legitimately, there are cases where that's fine.

But if someone is clearly just being a jerk, we have a rule about that.
