OK here is the situation. I have been with Tmobile for almost 3 years. Not too many complaints. It does not work too well when going across country though.
I am going month to month with the 600 minute, 3 day weekend plan with 300 txt msg for $2.99. This costs $39.99 a month.
Problem is I am using no more than 300-400 a month since now.

Would like the Cingular rollover minute plan. But is the loss of 150 minutes a month worth it? Also 200 txt msg are $4.99. But gaining free mobile to mobile with Cingular and free calls after 9 M-F + free weekends.
As with Tmobile, Cingular works fine where I am at in north San Diego.

So there it is. Do I stay with 3 day weekends or go to rollover?

If you are on the side of Tmobile my next and las...

I am sure I will draw fire for saying this but rollover minutes actually do cost money, they are not free.
With that said... You are on a grand fathered plan with T-mobile,(meaning they nolonger offer that plan) if you go to a different plan you would never be able to get this one back. however you can add features, depending on who you call the most. If most of your calls are to T-mobile customers I would suggest adding mobile-mobile which on a single line is 6.99. If most calls are are made to other networks or even land lines, maybe MyFaves can work for you. However if you stay and change your plan I would suggest you upgrade your phone, a MyFaves plan would require a new MyFaves phone.
As far as phones go there are many that have goo...

Jump ship already. T-Mobile could care less if you stay or go. 1 single customer who stays or leaves with a wireless carrier is nothing to wireless companies.

oh and I am glad you hate the RAZR. I personally hate the RAZR because it is reponsible for so many problems. Thanks to the RAZR, there's not enough flu shots. Thanks to the RAZR the gas prices keep going up. Thanks to the RAZR my ass is a two ton muffin.

So what you have to look forward to with Cingular is rollover and included in-network calling. In return, you're losing about 150 minutes and a better messaging feature. Another thing to consider may be the customer service difference. The people I know with Cingular love the rollover but hate the customer service and also the fact that the voice quality on Cingular's network is not that good compared to T-Mobile's. It is true that Cingular currently has more signal coverage than T-Mobile. However, T-Mobile has been building up their network a lot lately, over 2000 cell sites just this year. I would say, if you want value and great customer service, go with T-Mobile. Why don't you try a 14 day trial with Cingular and see what you think?

'Twasn't I, blame J.D. Power. T-Mobile got highest call quality in two out of six regions in the U.S. and tied with Verizon in one. Cingular didn't win any.

Most people beleive JD Powers people have something against Cingular. Probably because they killed AT&T Wireless haha. I wouldn't be surprised if they are only contacting former AT&T customers on the Blue network.

Even though I do despise T-Mobile -- only because of my own stupidity when I was 18 --If you have a grandfathered rate plan with great features stick with them...It is a hassle changing carriers and you may experience the same thing....I would suggest changing your phone...I got the hint you have the razr "ps. I hate the razr" Moto doesn't have that great of a rep with great signal - try a nokia you may find yourself less stressed out and get better reception

roll over minutes cost you money, by 1 if you have minutes rolling over each month you are most likely on the wrong plan and are paying for more then you need. 2 when your new month starts you have to use your "new" minutes before you use your "rolled over" ones, and if you didnt use all your minutse last month you most likely wont use them all this month, causeing an even larger surplus of minutes. 3 "rolled over" minutes become {use them or lose them}, meaning if you dont use them in i beileve it is 90days you lose them.

Yeah that is correct, they do rollover for a year. But bohdisha is still correct. If you are using around 300 minutes or 700 minutes a month and no more rollover will do nothing for you, for example my father has almost 2000 rollover minutes after almost 9 months and the lower plan would cause overage. Rollover does nothing for anyone because the point of different price points in the plan is to right fit the user.

I just checked out the business national plans on TMO's website, seems like a very good deal. I noticed that to purchase it you must contact a business rep. Has anyone done this on an individual level (not a business owner)? Also, any deals for government employees?

MDA? I thought that was a phone with a full keyboard. I am not a TMO customer yet, is there a way I can sign up as a new customer with the plan? Or do I need to sign up with any individual plan, then log into my tmbobile and tell it I have an MDA phone, then it will let me change to the BNP just like that, without affecting the contract? It will be a few months before I'm ready to sign up with t-mobile, just in the information gathering stage now. Thanks so much for your help!

Rollover is a gimmick I would suggest switching to a my faves plan use you five free numbers as much as you want much better then rollover. (you lose your rollover minutes too if you dont use them duh) also as far as phones go for a basic phone go with a 209 but if you wan the phone to have more features but not break the bank 619 only $100 with a $50 mail in this phone would be a bargain at $150 with no rebate just go look it up. Another thing to keep in mind with Cingular is a brand new activation fee if you got to them also every time you want a new phone $18 processing fee you are paying for a sales rep to literally push one button just a thought. 😎

Rollover is no more of a gimmick than my faves. Something that you have to offer because of your small customer base. Cingular nor Verizon has to offer this because of the mobile to mobile feature. If most people he talks to uses Cingular, then Cingular would be his best option because of m2m and rollover. Also, you keep your accrued rollover minutes for 1 year. As you lose them, you will continually gain them. But if the people he talks to the most do not have the same carrier, then my faves would work better. Lets try to give out better more accurate information 😁

Think about it logicaly the faves is a better gimmick on average 65% of all calls are made to 5 numbers also t-mobiles plans are cheaper and you still get more minutes a month. way to have a typical bad cingular sell though good job. 😎

One, I do not work for Cingular
Two, it all depends on the situation and you know it. M2M will in many cases offset the extra minutes and if he has many people that use Cingular, it just makes since for him to keep it (Main reason why I switched back to Cingular from Verizon). If he does not have many friends & family signed up with Cingular, then TMobile will be a better value. If you read my thread you would have saw this. Like I said, give the man a fair and balanced view from all angles so he can make the best decision for his situation instead of yours 🙂

From what I have heard the only way to real benefit would be if I made alot of in network phone calls. Most calls are a mix of Tmobile and Verizon friends.
On top of this most of my calls are made on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday when I get free calls anyway.
So it looks like I will bite the bullet and just buy the phone I want to go with my existing plan. Thanks

BNP will be your choice
3 Days Weekend does not have nights, then BNP should be better option because it has m2m and 500 messaging included
I don't know which phone you'd like to get, I'd get unlocked phones if I was you, the worth is way beyond the price (you'll have the function you're supposed to have)

just remember that as an existing customer you should qualify for reduced pricing. with that said, if your minutes are rolling over, your probably on the wrong plan.
